Delta and LATAM continue to strengthen their partnership with the addition of several new routes to their codeshare list.

The update includes 2 new services that will be operated by LATAM: one from Miami (MIA) to Medellín (MDE) in Colombia and the other from Atlanta (ATL) to Lima (LIM) in Peru.

“These exciting new routes, combined with our loyalty benefits, will provide even more ways to discover and do business in these dynamic markets,” said Alex Antilla, Vice President for Latin America at Delta.

Let’s take a look at what these new codeshare routes could mean for you.

Delta and LATAM’s Codeshare Expands Once Again

In a nutshell, the codeshare between Delta and LATAM enables travelers to purchase 1-stop itinerary tickets for a trip using both airlines.

For example, with the latest additions, you’ll now be able to take a Delta flight from cities across the U.S. to Atlanta and connect seamlessly on to the new LATAM service to Lima.

Hot Tip:

You can also use Delta SkyMiles on flights with LATAM Airlines which you can build up quickly with the help of a co-branded Delta credit card like the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card.

Both new services will start on October 29, 2023, around the time when airlines typically switch to their respective summer or winter schedules.

LATAM’s new Miami to Medellín route will be a daily, year-round service operated by one of the airline’s narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft.

These jets feature 12 seats in premium economy, which is similar to domestic first in the U.S. Rather than opting for the more premium 2-2 configuration, passengers opting for LATAM’s premium economy sit in rows of 3 with the middle seat blocked.

As for the longer route from Atlanta to Lima, this will be operated by a larger Boeing 767 aircraft that features “proper” business class with lie-flat seats. The service will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Further additions as part of the expanded codeshare will be the resumption of Delta’s nonstop service between Atlanta and Cartagena (CTG) in Colombia and the introduction of a second daily service between Atlanta and Bogotá (BOG).

Each of the 4 services mentioned will be included in Delta and LATAM’s portfolio of codeshare routes.
