Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has added a few new routes — and will increase service on some existing ones — to popular international destinations in advance of the winter travel season.

Let’s take a look at this exciting development from Delta!

Delta Adds New Routes for Winter Travel

It may only be June, but airlines are busily planning for the winter travel season by adding routes and increasing service to popular destinations. Here’s a look at what Delta’s planning:

Orlando to London Nonstop

Let’s start off with a new transatlantic route for the carrier. Starting October 26, 2024, Delta will operate seasonal nonstop service between Orlando (MCO) and London Heathrow (LHR). The flight will operate 4 times weekly through March 29, 2025, and will utilize the Airbus A330-900neo, which features Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Comfort+, and economy cabins.

Delta’s new seasonal service will complement its joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic’s year-round daily service between the 2 cities. As of the time of this writing, the new Delta flights aren’t yet bookable via the carrier’s website.

Fly to More Sunny Destinations From the Twin Cities

Delta will add flights to new destinations and increase service on existing routes from its Upper Midwest hub in Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP).

First, Delta will begin seasonal nonstop service from MSP to St. Maarten (SXM) on December 19, 2024, and to Aruba (AUA) on December 20, 2024.

Flights to St. Maarten will operate 2 times weekly — on Thursdays and Saturdays — according to the following schedule:

  • Depart Minneapolis (MSP) 7:05 a.m. — Arrive St. Maarten (SXM) 2:40 p.m.
  • Depart St. Maarten (SXM) 4:05 p.m. — Arrive Minneapolis (MSP) 8:10 p.m.

Flights to Aruba will also operate 2 times weekly — on Fridays and Sundays — according to the following schedule:

  • Depart Minneapolis (MSP) 7:05 a.m. — Arrive Aruba (AUA) 2:55 p.m.
  • Depart Aruba (AUA) 4:10 p.m. — Arrive Minneapolis (MSP) 8:25 p.m.

Both flights will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 757-200 aircraft equipped with first class, Comfort+, and economy cabins. The new service to these island destinations joins previously announced nonstop service to Mazatlán, Mexico (MZT) from Minneapolis.

In addition to these new routes, Delta will increase existing service to Grand Cayman (GCM) with an additional weekly flight and to San Juan (SJU) with 2 additional weekly flights. This will result in the carrier serving Grand Cayman 3 times weekly and San Juan 10 times weekly from Minneapolis.

Final Thoughts

Delta’s adding service to popular destinations for the winter travel season. Soon, the carrier will join its partner Virgin Atlantic on the route between Orlando and London and will further expand its growing Latin American and Caribbean operation from Minneapolis with the addition of nonstop service to St. Maarten and Aruba.
