Delta Air Lines has quietly opened its new Delta One check-in area at its Salt Lake City (SLC) hub for business class travelers.

Separate from the standard and elite-member queues, the Delta One check-in space offers travelers a more private and comfortable environment to begin their trip, featuring a small selection of complimentary snacks and beverages.

Here’s a look at what travelers can expect inside the new Delta One check-in experience at SLC.

What Are Delta One Check-In Areas?

During Delta’s Q3 earnings call on October 9, 2025, CEO Ed Bastian announced that by the end of the year, all Delta hubs would feature these semi-private check-in zones for Delta One flyers. Just a few weeks later, the check-in area has officially opened at SLC.

To complement the premium experience of its Delta One cabin, Delta wanted to enhance the overall journey, particularly at the beginning of it. In 2023, the airline launched its first-ever dedicated Delta One check-in area at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

At major hubs like LAX and New York (JFK), the Delta One check-in areas are a full experience that includes a dedicated security checkpoint. At the Delta One check-in desk at LAX, you even get direct access to the Delta One lounge after passing through security.

However, this level of exclusivity isn’t necessarily feasible across all hubs due to space constraints and other logistical factors. For instance, the Delta One check-in area at Seattle (SEA) — which opened earlier this summer — features a semi-private setup with a room divider and a dedicated staff member who verifies boarding passes before entry. While guests still enjoy water and snacks, the space lacks an enclosed check-in area and a separate security checkpoint.

The dedicated Delta One check-in area at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is located on the ground floor of the main terminal, near the departure drop-off entrance by Column 5A.

The experience is similar to what travelers will find in Seattle. Guests can choose from a small snack selection and enjoy a quieter space, though it isn’t entirely separated from the rest of the terminal.

While most travelers departing SLC use the main TSA checkpoint on Level 2, not many people realize there’s a second, smaller checkpoint on the ground floor, located right next to the new Delta One check-in desk. This security area typically has shorter lines and moves more quickly than the primary checkpoint upstairs, even if it’s not completely exclusive.

After clearing security, travelers merge back into the main terminal flow, passing the primary checkpoint area on their way to Concourse A.

Hot Tip:

The second Delta Sky Club at SLC opens tomorrow, October 28, at 11 a.m. Mountain Time. This location will also be the second-largest Delta Sky Club in the airline’s network!

Final Thoughts

Delta One passengers can now enjoy a dedicated check-in area at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), though it’s not quite as upscale as its flagship locations. That said, a Delta One Lounge is also planned for SLC in the future, which will further enhance the experience upon its opening.
