Delta and Shake Shack kicked off a partnership at the end of last year that brought the burger chain’s famous ShackBurgers to the skies.

At that time, the burgers were only available on select flights from Boston, but now the 2 companies are bringing the popular meal option to more flights from more of the airline’s hubs.

Here’s what you should know.

Delta and Shake Shack Expand Partnership

When Delta and Shake Shack originally teamed up, the inflight ShackBurgers were only available on flights from Boston (BOS). But, as of today, March 4, 2025, first-class flyers on flights of 900 miles or more departing Atlanta (ATL), Los Angeles (LAX), New York-LaGuardia (LGA), and Seattle (SEA) can choose the ShackBurger as their entree.

“Customers are raving about the Shake Shack experience onboard our flights after serving more than 10,000 burgers out of Boston since launching in December,” said Stephanie Laster, managing director of onboard service. “This is part of our work to partner with brands our customers already know and love while continuing to raise the bar for the inflight experience.”

This collaboration between Delta and Shake Shack builds on the existing relationship between Delta and Union Square Hospitality Group, which has the same founder as the burger chain: Danny Meyer.

Fans of Shake Shack need no introduction to the famous cheeseburger, but passengers who are unfamiliar will likely be very impressed by the quality, thanks to the 100% Angus beef patty on a toasted potato bun topped with the famous ShackSauce.

Passengers can customize their burgers with toppings including tomato, lettuce, and more on the side. The meal also includes a Caesar salad, chips, and a dark chocolate brownie.

This option will be available to passengers up to 24 hours in advance in the Fly Delta app (iOS, Android) or via a link in their email starting 7 days before departure on flights 900 miles or longer.

New Promotion: Delta x Shake Shack x Uber Eats

Delta recently shared the details of an upcoming partnership with Uber. To celebrate this — and the Shake Shack expansion — the airline is out with a new promo that allows those who have already joined the so-called “Delta x Uber” waitlist (or those who sign up by March 6) to get a free additional ShackBurger when ordering a ShackBurger from Uber Eats.

This BOGO ShackBurger promotion is valid through March 14, 2025.

More Inflight Food Updates

Delta’s making some more tweaks to its inflight food and beverage offerings to usher in the spring season.

The airline is reworking its “Special Meals” offerings, designed for those with dietary restrictions, preferences, and needs. These will be available on first class or Delta One flights departing the U.S.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Atlanta-based carrier is introducing a new spin on the iconic Biscoff cookie: the Biscoff sandwich.

Delta has long served a meatball, ricotta, and garlic bread entree from iconic Los Angeles eatery Jon & Vinny’s on flights departing from Los Angeles (LAX). Now, it will be available on “select first class routes out of West and Southwest airports,” in addition to Delta One flights departing Cincinnati (CVG), Minneapolis (MSP), Los Angeles, Orlando (MCO), Portland (PDX), Seattle, Salt Lake City (SLC), and Tampa (TPA).

Delta is also introducing new beverage options, including Champagne Taittinger on international flights in Delta One, 2 new red wine options, and 2 new white wine options. Finally, it’s introducing several non-alcoholic options that can be consumed on their own or in addition to a spirit.

Final Thoughts

Delta has been busy tweaking and improving its inflight food and beverage offering on many flights. The most exciting news, however, is that it’s expanding its partnership with Shake Shack to more flights from more cities.

This collaboration has clearly been a hit with flyers, so we can only expect (and hope) that the famous burger will soon be available at even more Delta hubs.
