2025 has been the year of airport lounge openings, and Delta’s latest — and most gorgeous — addition arrives just in time for the busy winter travel season.

The airline will officially open its second Sky Club at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to the public tomorrow, October 28, at 11 a.m. Mountain Time, offering travelers an elevated preflight experience.

Locals and visitors alike will want to stop by this new space, which offers a sleek design, upgraded culinary options, and stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains that set it apart from the original club. At 34,000 square feet (compared to the original’s 28,000), this new Delta Sky Club offers even more space — with room for up to 600 travelers.

Here’s your first look inside Delta’s newest lounge, the second largest in its network.

Where Is the New Delta Sky Club at SLC?

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) features 1 main terminal divided into 2 concourses: A and B. Most Delta flights depart from Concourse A, located just past the security checkpoint, where the primary Delta Sky Club is also situated. The new Delta Sky Club, however, is located in Concourse B.

Travelers can reach Concourse B through a central tunnel that opened in October 2024. This new tunnel significantly reduces the distance from security: less than half a mile or about a 10-minute walk, depending on your pace.

I walked it in 5.5 minutes, but I walk very fast.

At the top of the escalators, the Delta Sky Club is located directly behind you, next to the sprawling dinosaur installation that’s impossible to miss.

Look for the Allosaurus behind you when getting off the elevators.

Guests can verify their Sky Club access at the entrance using self-service kiosks or with the help of customer service agents.

Prepare to be wowed.

While most Delta flights currently operate out of Concourse A, Salt Lake City International Airport continues to grow under its “The New SLC” redevelopment program. As part of this expansion, Delta plans to add 10 additional gates to Concourse B, further increasing its capacity for both new and connecting flights.

Delta is expanding at Concourse B.

So, is the new Delta Sky Club worth the extra walk? Absolutely. Keep reading to discover why this impressive space is well worth the detour.

What To Expect at SLC’s Second Delta Sky Club

Not only is this the second Delta Sky Club at SLC, but it’s also the second-largest in Delta’s entire network — surpassed only by the club at New York–LaGuardia. Spanning an impressive 34,000 square feet, the space feels expansive and seemingly endless. Ample seating is everywhere — in numerous types, including a few surprises we’ll mention below.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Bar Design
The bar is stunning.

If you’ve visited any of Delta’s newer Sky Clubs, you’ll find that the amenities and seating here are on par with the same elevated caliber found across the airline’s latest lounges.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Artwork
Art is a huge focus here.

This new Delta Sky Club at Concourse B will be open open daily from 5:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (The Delta Sky Club at Concourse A is open daily from 4:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m., though club hours are subject to change.)

“Salt Lake City continues to be a key hub in our network, and opening our second Delta Sky Club at the airport reflects our deepening commitment to the market,” said Claude Roussel, vice president of Delta Sky Club and lounge experience. “This space was designed with direct input from our customers — what they love, what they need, and how they feel when they travel. From the seating layout to the food and beverage offerings, every detail was crafted to deliver an elevated experience that makes the lounge feel like a home away from home.”

I sat down with Tim Genovese, Delta’s director of Sky Club Operations, during the media preview of the new space. Last year, the airline confirmed that a Delta One Lounge would be coming to SLC, though its debut will not coincide with the opening of this Sky Club.

“We don’t have anything to share about the Delta One Lounge [at SLC] just yet,” said Genovese. “However, we just opened the Delta One check-in at Salt Lake City a few days ago as we continue to roll out that experience across all of our hubs.”

Hot Tip:

The 31st Amex Centurion lounge in the world is set to open tomorrow, October 28, at SLC as well, marking the issuer’s 16th U.S. location. These new lounges will give travelers more lounge options than ever before.

Design

At the top of the escalators, guests are greeted by a striking fire pit that sets the tone for the space. The club’s design incorporates earthy hues of soft greens and warm browns accented by mixed metals, creating the ambiance of a luxurious mountain lodge rather than a busy airport terminal.

Cozy up by the fire.

Similar to other Delta Sky Clubs, the airline has a huge emphasis on funding local artists in Utah and also showcasing destinations you can travel to from SLC, shedding light on its route network. The club’s design also pays homage to the surrounding Wasatch Mountains and Utah’s nature.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Facing Main Area
Neutrals and mixed metals with a pop of color.

The artwork and ambience are just the start, though. There’s tons of natural light pouring into the space. Sitting facing the windows, you’ll face the sprawling Concourse A lined with all the Delta planes, as well as some views of downtown Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains in the background.

New Delta Sky Club SLC More Seating
If you look real closely, you’ll see downtown Salt Lake City from this angle.

While this new Delta Sky Club doesn’t feature an outdoor terrace, the Delta Sky Club at Concourse A has a heated space you can visit even during the winter.

Seating

Until now, Salt Lake City had been the only Delta hub with just 1 Sky Club. While that original lounge is already spacious at 28,000 square feet, it has occasionally faced crowding and long lines during peak travel times.

This new lounge in Concourse B means Delta has more than doubled its lounge capacity. The new 34,000-square-foot space can fit up to 600 guests, offering travelers even more room to relax and unwind.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Lounge Chairs
Delta can accommodate up to 1,200 travelers between both Delta Sky Clubs now.

The varied seating types are thoughtful for every type of traveler visiting the space. Solo travelers can lounge in chaises or shared couches.

Varied type of seating.

Business travelers will love the 9 soundproof telephone booths (including a few that are ADA-compliant), as well as larger shared tables conducive for working.

Great for business travelers.

Leisure travelers will love the dimly lit bar area, which has plenty of room to socialize, including high-top dining tables.

But perhaps my favorite part of the entire space is the first-ever “Digital Immersion Wall.”

New Delta Sky Club SLC Digital Immersion
A quiet zone.

Located to the left of the buffet, this serene corner offers a calming retreat where guests can unwind amid stunning digital displays of Utah’s natural landscapes, accompanied by soothing nature sounds. The space is dimly lit and intentionally tucked away, providing a peaceful escape for travelers seeking a quiet moment escaping the bustle of the airport.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Digital Immersion Room
Not fully closed off, but you immediately get a sense of peace here.

“We have a high desire to connect with the local area,” said Genovese. “There are 7 different scenes rotating, from birds flying by, to snowfall and rain. We wanted to bring Utah inside as it’s so ruggedly beautiful.”

The restrooms are conveniently located to the right of the bar and include 2 family-style facilities, along with separate men’s and women’s restrooms. There are no shower facilities in this new Delta Sky Club, though they are available in the location at Concourse A.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Restrooms
Restrooms, but no shower suites.

With more than a dozen stalls featuring full floor-to-ceiling doors, guests can enjoy complete privacy.

The restrooms also feature plenty of sinks and soft, flattering lighting, perfect for freshening up.

Food and Beverages

The new Delta Sky Club features a large central buffet featuring hot and cold fare.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Buffet Area
One buffet for the whole space.

You can find typical Delta Sky Club bits here, from fresh salads to grab-and-go wraps and sandwiches to desserts. There are 4 hot food stations and 2 soup canisters on both sides of the buffet, allowing for traffic to flow both ways during busy hours.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Main Buffet
The menu will be identical to the other Delta Sky Club.

“Menus will rotate and feature Utah favorites,” said Genovese. “Expect to see things like funeral potatoes or even Jello desserts. The produce is locally sourced and we partner with local chefs to show off their top dishes.”

New Delta Sky Club SLC Buffet
Vegetables and dip.

There are 2 beverage stations in the lounge as well. The first is located immediately to the left of the buffet, featuring 2 espresso machines, a soda machine, orange juice, cucumber-infused water, and a seasonal drink. During my visit, it was hot apple cider.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Beverage Station
Main beverage station.

The second beverage station is located to the right of the bar.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Espresso
Second beverage station.

It features many of the same beverages but something uniquely Utah here: a “dirty soda” station with syrups next to the Coke machine.

If you’re not familiar with dirty sodas, they’re a Utah-born staple. Essentially, it’s a build-your-own nonalcoholic fountain drink jazzed up with flavored syrups and optional add-ins like cream, maraschino cherries, or lime. It’s a fun local twist, as Delta is embracing a regional favorite that highlights what makes Salt Lake City unique from the rest of its network.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Dirty Soda Station
The nod to the dirty soda trend is on point.

For those who prefer an alcoholic beverage, the bar area features a stunning marble-inspired design and wraps around with more than a dozen high-top seats.

New Delta Sky Club SLC Bartenders
Plenty of seats around the bar.

Guests can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and spirits upon presenting a valid ID, while an upgraded menu offers premium beers, wines, and cocktails for an additional charge, payable with cash or Delta SkyMiles.

Final Thoughts

As someone living in Salt Lake City, I couldn’t be more excited about the opening of this new Delta Sky Club. The original lounge has served travelers well over the years, but it’s starting to show its age and can get packed during peak travel hours.

Time will tell whether the new space will ease congestion or simply shift the crowds from one lounge to another. If you’re flying through SLC anytime soon, you should allot extra time at the airport to visit this space. The walk is certainly worth it.
