Delta Air Lines teamed up with the car-sharing platform Turo in 2022, giving SkyMiles members the chance to earn miles on eligible rentals. But the partnership is now set to end in the near future.

Here’s how that affects your mileage earnings on Turo moving forward.

Delta and Turo’s Partnership Ending Soon

If you’re a fan of using Turo, the car-sharing platform, you’ll want to know that it’s ending its current partnership with Delta Air Lines as of December 31, 2025.

As of January 1, 2026, you’ll no longer be able to earn Delta SkyMiles on Turo bookings. For bookings made on or before July 1, 2025, you’ll earn SkyMiles on bookings completed by the original specified date. For bookings made after July 1, 2025, they must be completed by December 31, 2025, to earn miles.

As a reminder, Delta SkyMiles members can currently earn 2,000 miles after their first Turo trip, and then 500 miles for each one after that. If you have a Turo rental scheduled before the year ends, you can link your accounts here to get the bonus miles while you still can.

What Is Turo?

Turo is a car-sharing platform that allows car owners to list their vehicles for others to rent. It works similarly to how Airbnb and Vrbo work for vacation rentals.

Turo users have come to love it thanks to the variety of vehicles available (you can pick the exact make and model of the car you’re renting) and the fact that prices are often favorable when compared to the legacy car rental agencies.

The platform offers a number of insurance policies as add-ons to your rental, which can add significantly to the overall cost. And while many travel credit cards offer car rental insurance (some even provide primary coverage), most do not offer coverage for car-sharing services like Turo.

While Delta’s partnership with Turo is ending in the coming weeks, United Airlines MileagePlus members can still take advantage of earning miles on their eligible rentals.

Final Thoughts

It’s unfortunate to learn that Delta and Turo are going their separate ways. While the partnership wasn’t the most lucrative one we’ve ever seen, it was a great way to earn bonus miles on rentals for no extra effort.

If you have any Turo trips coming up before the end of the year, make sure your accounts are linked so you can cash in on the bonus miles before the partnership ends at the end of this year.
