Avianca is incentivizing travelers to choose its business class by offering 20x LifeMiles per $1 spent — double the number of miles you typically earn.

The offer runs for a limited time only until August 15, 2025.

Let’s examine the offer’s fine print and take a closer look at what you can expect from Avianca’s business-class experience to help you decide whether this offer is right for you.

Avianca’s 20x bonus LifeMiles Offer

The offer is on Avianca‘s business class fares in the Americas and to Europe. If you’re based in the U.S., you’ll likely get the most value from the Americas flights, as you’d need to fly to Colombia to catch an Avianca flight to Europe.

The bonus of 20x LifeMiles per $1 spent is on all of Avianca’s international routes in business class. Flights must be booked before August 15 for travel until November 1, 2025.

Hot Tip:

Thanks to the many ways of earning and redeeming Avianca LifeMiles, the airline’s LifeMiles program is popular among frequent flyers and points aficionados.

To participate, you must first register for the promotion by logging in to your LifeMiles account.

Before jumping on the offer and booking a flight, it’s worth pointing out that not all of Avianca’s aircraft and routes feature true business class.

However, starting in September, the Colombia-based carrier will add its Airbus A320neo business class service to more routes between the U.S. and South America.

The “Premium” business class on these aircraft features wider seats and a blocked middle. The setup is like a hybrid between European business class and U.S. domestic first class.

That said, it’s unclear which routes will benefit from a true business class meal service when flying Avianca. As per Avianca’s website, business class passengers on flights of less than 3 hours, including a recent flight I took from Bogotá (BOG) to Guayaquil (GYE), will enjoy “packaged snacks” and free soft drinks and alcohol.

On this particular flight, however, I saw the crew charging business class passengers for soft drinks and snacks.

Final Thoughts

There’s no denying that 20x LifeMiles per $1 spent is a generous offer. However, there is some uncertainty over the type of business class experience you’d have when flying Avianca. The experience in Avianca business class in the Americas can be rough, if we’re honest.

If you’d like to pump up your stash of LifeMiles and take a gamble, this could be a great offer for you. If that’s not you, it’s probably not the best value for your money
