Bilt Rewards continues expanding its airline partnerships, and its latest update could be very interesting for Flying Blue loyalists looking to turn rent payments into award travel.

Starting today, if you’re an Air France KLM Visa Signature^® Credit Card holder, you can earn 3x Flying Blue miles per $1 spent on rent payments made through Bilt — a major jump from the standard earning rates many renters are used to seeing.

Here’s what you need to know about the new partnership and how it works.

Flying Blue Cardholders Can Now Earn 3X Miles on Rent Through Bilt

To unlock the new earning rate, you’ll need to hold the U.S. Air France KLM World Elite card and add it to your Bilt Wallet. Once added, simply select the card as your payment method when paying rent through Bilt Rewards.

Eligible cardholders will earn 3 Flying Blue miles per $1 on up to $50,000 in annual rent payments. After hitting that cap, earnings drop to 1.5 miles per $1 spent.

There is an important catch, though: A 3% transaction fee applies when using third-party credit cards through Bilt. That means this strategy will likely make the most sense for renters who highly value Flying Blue miles, are working toward a specific redemption, or are working on a welcome bonus spending requirement on this card. At the moment, the benefit only applies to rent payments — not mortgages.

Bilt Rewards points already transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio, and Bilt Platinum members can currently activate 12 months of Flying Blue Gold status after transferring 10,000 Bilt points to the program.

While this new perk is specifically tied to the U.S. cardholders with the Air France KLM Visa card, it also highlights a growing trend of using co-branded airline cards for large monthly expenses.

For example, travelers can already earn Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards and United Airlines MileagePlus miles on rent payments. However, the transaction fee of 3% applies when using these cards.

Flying Blue frequently offers Promo Rewards with discounted award pricing to Europe and beyond, so earning extra Flying Blue miles on rent could help offset the cost of business-class awards much faster than everyday spending alone.
