Heading to Taiwan this month? Willing to if there’s a great deal? EVA Air is out with an enticing offer for anyone in either camp.

For flights between the West Coast and Taiwan — in either direction — you can use 30% fewer miles than normal to upgrade into premium economy or business class. The catch is that you must travel by September 30, which won’t work for everyone.

Interested in this upgrade offer using your miles? Here’s how it works.

EVA Air’s New Upgrade Offer

EVA Air flies to multiple locations in the U.S. Unfortunately, not all of them are covered by this offer.

This offer to upgrade your EVA Air flight for 30% fewer miles only applies to 3 West Coast airports: Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA).

For those with EVA Air Infinity MileageLands miles (yes, that’s the full name of the program), you can regularly use them to move from economy up to premium economy on an upcoming EVA Air flight. Through September 30, you’ll redeem 30% fewer EVA Air miles for upgrades.

Here’s how the standard and discounted pricing looks:

Follow the chart to understand how many miles you need for an upgrade, depending on the fare class of your original ticket. You’ll need more miles if you purchased a discounted ticket, rather than a full-fare purchase.

The promotion’s terms include a few important considerations:

  • You must travel between September 2 and September 30, 2025.
  • Promotion applies in both directions, but other airports not mentioned aren’t offering the discount.
  • Upgrades using miles are discounted; paid upgrades aren’t.
  • Upgrades cannot be done at the airport and must be done in advance.
  • You must have the required miles in 1 account; sharing miles between accounts for the upgrade isn’t possible.
  • This offer isn’t valid on tickets issued with miles or purchased through discount programs, including group tickets.
  • The ticket holder is responsible for any extra taxes or award fees incurred with the upgrade.
Hot Tip:

How To Get EVA Air Miles

The Infinity MileageLands program accepts transfers from Capital One Rewards (at a 4:3 ratio) and Citi ThankYou Rewards (at a 1:1 ratio). Unfortunately, the transfers typically take 1 to 2 days, so bear that in mind as you make travel plans.

What’s It Like Flying With EVA Air?

The carrier has the world’s most spacious premium economy cabin, so you’ll get more space and more comfort with EVA Air than other carriers on the long flight across the Pacific.

Additionally, the airline offers free Wi-Fi and messaging on select flights through September 30, 2025.

We rank EVA’s product among the best business class seats in the world, with comfort, modern touches, and great services.

Final Thoughts

If you’re flying between the West Coast and Taiwan this month, you can use fewer 30% miles than normal to upgrade your EVA Air flight. This offer applies to upgrades to premium economy and business class. Unfortunately, it’s got a short travel window.

For anyone with a trip booked — or who wants to book one now, thanks to this upgrade offer using miles — this could be a great opportunity.
