Located under an hour from Cancún International Airport (CUN), the Fairmont Mayakoba has been a mainstay on the shores of Mexico’s Riviera Maya for almost 2 decades.

This year marks the property’s 17th anniversary, and it’s also celebrating an extensive renovation that’s ready to be shown off to guests — with a 30% discount to boot.

Here’s what you need to know about this refreshed property, and how to score that discount.

Fairmont Mayakoba Debuts Its New Look

The luxurious Fairmont Mayakoba has undergone a thorough renovation, and its guest rooms, suites, casitas, lobby, restaurants, bars, main pool, beach pool, and kids club have a new look and feel.

There’s also a new beach club and 2 new restaurants in the main resort area for guests to enjoy.

Maykana Beach Club

The star of the Fairmont’s renovation, Maykana features “grand terraces, private luxury cabanas, sunken fire pits, and seaside pools [that] bring a sophisticated flair for relaxation and resort dining.”

Here’s a rundown of what guests can expect for dining and drinking options at Maykana:

  • Brisas is inspired by the Mediterranean, this is an open-air concept set on a terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
  • Aqua is the place to grab a cocktail influenced by the flavors of Latin America.
  • Fuego is a “Tulum-inspired ancestral grill that captures an energetic yet bohemian feel.”
  • Gaia is the beach club’s signature restaurant and serves fresh seafood from Mexico and around the world.
  • Cielo is an adults-only, “upbeat lounge” that boasts unrivaled views of the sunset.

Other On-property Dining

In the main resort area, guests have the option of dining at 2 unique concepts, including La Laguna, which serves up traditional and contemporary Mexican cuisine, and its accompanying bar, La Cantina, which features an open kitchen, overwater dining decks, and more, from where guests can enjoy delicious dishes and craft cocktails.

There’s also Bassano, an Italian restaurant with pizzas, pastas, and more, made from fresh, simple ingredients.

More Renovations To Come

The Fairmont Mayakoba’s renovation project is ongoing, with more areas of the property set to receive an overhaul. These include the spa, salon, fitness center, and meeting spaces.

The new spa will feature “all-new furniture, a brand-new front desk, state-of-the-art massage beds, and a botanical garden that will allow guests to choose their own herbs for their treatments while learning about the benefits to their bodies.”

Meanwhile, the salon is poised to become Mayakoba’s largest, and the gym will receive all-new equipment.

Save 30% On Fairmont Mayakoba Stays

To celebrate the property’s anniversary — and its new look — the Fairmont Mayakoba is offering guests 30% off stays from May to December 2023. You must book before March 31, 2023, and the offer includes “an upgrade at the time of booking based on availability, an on-property bird-watching boat tour, use of bicycles to explore Mayakoba, guided catamaran tours including the use of kayaks.”

Hot Tip: The Fairmont Mayakoba is an Accor hotel, meaning it participates in the Accor Live Limitless loyalty program. Read all about how to earn and redeem rewards in our complete guide!

Final Thoughts

The Fairmont Mayakoba is celebrating 17 years in business and a fresh new look that will certainly up the ante in terms of its offering for guests.
