The ultra-luxe Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is coming to Puerto Rico, becoming the brand’s fourth resort in the Caribbean.

Here’s what you need to know before it opens next year.

Four Seasons Continues Caribbean Expansion

Four Seasons Resort Puerto Rico will have 139 guest rooms and suites and 85 private residences.

Located along 2 miles of Bahia Beach, the resort will have walking trails, several pools, tennis courts, and an 18-hole golf course, a spa, a fitness center, several restaurants and bars, and meeting spaces. El Yunque National Forest and San Juan are both short drives from the resort.

Four Seasons Resort Puerto Rico will open for guests in late 2025. However, the hotel chain didn’t mention an exact date.

Four Seasons noted that Puerto Rico is one of the most sought-after travel destinations in the Caribbean. Its status as a U.S. territory means that Americans can visit the island without a passport or without having to go through immigration. The island is also a prime destination for travelers within the Caribbean, thanks to its close location to nearby islands such as the Dominican Republic and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The resort will be located 30 minutes from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), which is served by most U.S. airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and JetBlue.

Four Seasons already has a small but impressive footprint in the Caribbean, with resorts in AnguillaThe Bahamas, and Nevis. The chain also has plans for resorts in Belize and the Dominican Republic.

About Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts

Four Seasons was founded in 1961 by Isadore Sharp in Toronto. Today, the brand has grown to become one of the most exclusive and luxurious hotel chains out there, with a huge emphasis on service, dining, and amenities.

There are more than 100 hotels and resorts and 50+ residential properties worldwide, with dozens more in development. And in recent years, the chain has launched fully inclusive private jet itineraries and Four Seasons Yachts.

Hot Tip:

Four Seasons doesn’t have its own rewards program. However, some hotels do participate in American Express’ Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection (LHRC) from Chase. You’ll score premium perks like upgrades, resort credits, and more when booking through one of these programs.

Final Thoughts

Puerto Rico is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations — and the most accessible for U.S. travelers — so it makes sense that Four Seasons would plant its flag on the island. While there is no shortage of luxury resorts in Puerto Rico, the Four Seasons seems like it will be in a league of its own!
