A Walt Disney World vacation can be an expensive endeavor for a family. Plane tickets, hotels, transportation, souvenirs — oh, and you need to feed everyone while you’re there, too!
Well, Disney has rolled out a “free and delicious deal for Disney+ subscribers” that can save you hundreds of dollars on meals during your visit to see Mickey this summer.
Let’s take a look at the details to see if it makes sense for you and your family.
$7.99 Disney Dining Plan
Disney+ is a popular streaming service in many households, but if you dont have it, it might be worth signing up to snag this Disney dining deal. Plans start at $7.99 per month, and you could save almost $1000 compared to the cost of adding a dining plan separately.
That is a significant saving thanks to something you may already be paying for (it costs $7.99 if you aren’t), but packages aren’t cheap.
To qualify for this offer, you must be a Disney+ subscriber and book a specific 4-night package to obtain a complimentary Disney dining plan. You must purchase a nondiscounted 4-night, 4-day Walt Disney Travel Company package with a room at a select Disney Resort hotel and include a theme park ticket with a Park Hopper option.
That is still a hefty financial commitment and can range in price drastically depending on the room and resort you choose.
Furthermore, the selection of the resort will dictate the dining plan that comes with it:
- Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan: Disney Value and Moderate hotels
- Disney Dining Plan: Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa hotels
With more than 100 quick-service and table-service restaurants throughout the parks (including Character dining), adding a dining plan can be a convenient and fun option.
Here are some more details to be aware of:
- Valid for arrivals most nights starting July 1 through September 30, 2024
- Book online or with a travel professional
- Proof of Disney+ subscription is required and must be the same email registered to your Walt Disney World account
- The Disney+ subscriber must stay in the room
- Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion
- Offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom Villas, The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Cabins at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Bungalows at Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
- Dining plan excludes gratuities
- Children ages 3 to 9 must order from a children’s menu, where available.
As always, you should run the numbers to see what makes financial sense for you and your party.Hot Tip:

Disney+ is a must-have for Disney fans.
With endless content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic there is something for everyone in your household. Plus, you can download content, which makes it a great option to watch your favorite show or movie while traveling.
With plans starting at only $7.99 per month, or less with the right credit card for streaming services, having a Disney+ subscription could pay big dividends for this promotion.
Getting anything free from Disney is rare, let alone something as valuable as a dining plan. But if you have a Disney+ streaming plan and were already planning to book a 4-night vacation package, this deal is a no-brainer and could be worth almost $1,000.
That being said, booking a package deal might not make sense for everyone — especially if you like to book your hotels with points. And not everyone will get the same amount of value from the dining plans if they aren’t big eaters while in the park.
Bottom line, it’s a good deal, but you will need to crunch the numbers to see if this works for you!
