Marriott is ending the month of October with some exciting news: a new resort in the Maldives.

The hotel giant announced a new Autograph Collection resort in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, about 90 minutes by seaplane from Malé (MLE). This is the first Autograph Collection property in the Maldives.

Here’s a rundown of the resort, plus the best ways to book a stay here.

Autograph Collection’s Big Debut in the Maldives

The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, has opened with just 38 private villas, each featuring a private pool. There are 4 room types — island villas, overwater villas, 2-bedroom villas, and the Halcyon Grand Estate — ranging in size from 650 to 4,100 square feet.

There’s an interesting background about the resort’s name. Inspired by the myth of Alcyone, halcyon days are a time of “peace, golden light, and unhurried discovery.”

You’ll certainly find that here. When you arrive, you’ll receive a dedicated butler who can curate personalized itineraries, organize in-villa dining, and more. The resort offers 5 dining options, including Maldivian, Peruvian, Japanese, and South American fare. Other amenities include a fitness center, 2 swimming pools, and a spa. Breakfast is included for guests.

Marriott’s Autograph Collection is a portfolio of nearly 350 hand-selected properties worldwide, known for their unique design and authentic experiences.

Bottom Line:

It’s not surprising that Marriott would open an Autograph Collection property in the Maldives. In recent months, the brand has expanded its presence in some of the world’s most sought-after destinations, including a safari camp in the Serengeti.

Booking The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives

The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, is now open for guests, with cash rates starting at around $1,100 per night.

There’s wide open award availability with Marriott Bonvoy points, but it isn’t cheap. We’re seeing award availability starting at 112,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

Any new resort in the Maldives is always exciting news, and The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, is no exception. While cash and award rates are pretty pricey, the resort makes up for it with gorgeous private villas, high-end dining, and a luxury, remote location.
