As of June 30, 2025, several of Hawaiian Airlines’ partnerships will go away.

There’s no need for concern, as you still have time to utilize your miles for booking award flights on these partner airlines before that occurs. Additionally, certain non-travel partners are expected to only be temporarily unavailable, as Hawaiian indicates that many of them “will join Mileage Plan later this year” during the ongoing integration with Alaska Airlines.

This is the latest change to Hawaiian Airlines and its HawaiianMiles program as it merges with Alaska Airlines. We’ve seen other hints at changes that might be coming in the future as well.

Here’s what you should know.

Hawaiian Airlines Partnerships Ending on June 30, 2025

In a new announcement, Hawaiian Airlines says its partnerships with these airlines will end on June 30, 2025:

  • Virgin Australia
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • China Airlines
  • Japan Airlines
  • Korean Air
  • JetBlue

Until June 30, you can still redeem your HawaiianMiles to fly on these airlines. Eligible bookings are permitted for flights through February 28, 2026.

Additionally, June 30 will bring the end of several non-travel partnerships. You can still redeem miles with the following shopping and dining partners before the deadline:

  • Boyd Rewards
  • Foodland
  • Hele
  • Koa Pancake House
  • Kono’s
  • Maui Jim
  • The Alley

Notably, Hawaiian Airlines says many of these partners will start participating in Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan program “later this year.” As part of Hawaiian’s merger with Alaska, the 2 airlines will share this 1 loyalty program in the future.

Additionally, you’ll be able to earn HawaiianMiles with these partners until June 30:

  • Rocket Mortgage
  • University of Hawaii ‘Ahahui Koa Ānuenue (AKA)
  • CARmel
  • Island Art Store

Other Changes Coming to Hawaiian Airlines

We also expect the Hawaiian Airlines co-branded credit cards to go away in the future, as indicated by the head of Alaska Airlines’ loyalty program. This change should come after the merger is complete.

Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of loyalty, alliances, and sales, has also indicated that the program will likely keep its points transfer options limited in the future.

Presently, you can transfer Bilt Rewards points to Alaska Airlines and transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Hawaiian Airlines. With instant transfers between Hawaiian and Alaska accounts, that means travelers have a roundabout way to transfer points from Amex to Alaska Airlines. That will end at some point in the future, based on what Catlin has said in media interviews. An exact date on when this feature goes away remains unknown.

Alaska Airlines intends to heavily focus on its co-branded credit cards rather than points transfer partners.

Hot Tip:

With Hawaiian Airlines’ credit cards and points transfers from Amex through Hawaiian to Alaska Airlines set to end at some point in the future, we recommend applying for these cards and strategically transferring any points soon. We don’t know when these options will end. Hopefully, we’ll get an advance notice — rather than them simply ending abruptly.

Final Thoughts

Hawaiian Airlines continues to make changes as it integrates with Alaska Airlines and the Mileage Plan loyalty program. On June 30, several partnerships will end.

For the airline partnerships set to end, you can still book award flights using miles for travel into early 2026. With the non-travel partnerships, some of them will return “later this year,” though an exact date isn’t known.

What we do know is that the Hawaiian Airlines co-branded cards will be phased out shortly, so apply now to earn more future Alaska Mileage Plan miles.
