The Hawaiian Airlines® Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard® is offering an excellent new welcome bonus offer, giving you the opportunity to boost your Atmos Rewards balance.

Here’s what you need to know.

Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Card Benefits

The Hawaiian Airlines® Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard® has a modest $99 annual fee, and includes perks such as:

  • 3x points on eligible Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines purchases
  • 2x points on gas, dining, and eligible grocery store purchases
  • 1x points on all other purchases
  • 2 free checked bags on eligible flights
  • 50% off companion discount for round-trip economy travel between Hawaii and North America destinations on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights or round-trip North America economy travel on Alaska Airlines-operated flights.
  • Annual $100 companion discount for round-trip economy travel between Hawaii and North America destinations on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights or round-trip North America economy travel on Alaska Airlines-operated flights.
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • No limit to the total number of Atmos Rewards points you can earn
  • Low APR for 15 months

The card is available on Barclays and Bank of Hawaii’s websites, but you’ll apply through Barclays.

Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Card Welcome Bonus

The Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii card is offering a welcome bonus of 60,000 Atmos Rewards points after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first 90 days. We value Atmos Rewards at 1.6 cents apiece, which is among the highest in the airline currency space, making this bonus worth $960.

This bonus is nothing to scoff at. In addition to redeeming Atmos Rewards points on Hawaiian or Alaska flights, they can also be redeemed on Oneworld carriers like Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, and Qatar Airways.

For instance, you can score a one-way ticket in Japan Airlines business class for 60,000 points (plus taxes and fees) when flying to or from West Coast cities like Seattle (SEA) or use your bonus for a handful of short-haul flights within the Americas.

Bottom Line:

The HawaiianMiles program was discontinued last fall and was absorbed into Alaska Airlines’ Atmos Rewards program. Hawaiian Airlines co-branded credit cards now earn Atmos Rewards points.

Is It Worth It?

This particular card will probably make the most sense if you’re a regular traveler on Hawaiian or Alaska, as you’ll get perks like free checked bags. However, if you don’t fly regularly with the airline — but still want to earn Atmost Rewards points — some options may offer heartier welcome bonuses:

Final Thoughts

The Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii card is a solid card with a low annual fee and impressive perks, including 2 free checked bags, companion discounts, and more. However, if you don’t see yourself flying Hawaiian often, but still want to earn Atmos Rewards, it may make more sense to open another Atmos-point-earning credit card instead.
