Hilton has left its Honors members reeling in 2025, with 2 notable devaluations at many of its most desirable properties.

Now, it appears that the chain is backtracking ever so slightly, quietly lowering some award prices that it had raised in its most recent devaluation, which occurred just last month. However, not all of the prices that went up are going back down.

Let me show you what’s changing (again).

Hilton Walks Back Latest Devaluation at Select Properties

The team at Thrifty Traveler noticed that Hilton has lowered prices at some properties that were part of its most recent devaluation in September.

Last month, Hilton invoked another no-notice devaluation at some top properties that saw award rates soar to a “base” rate of 250,000 points per night.

Now, some properties involved in the most recent devaluation or the one that happened back in May have seen their standard award night rates decrease, which is certainly welcome news for Hilton Honors members.

First, let’s look at some of the properties that have seen a decrease in their standard award pricing:

  • Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort: Rates were recently raised to a standard level of 160,000 points per night but are now down to 110,000 points per night — the price charged before the devaluation.
  • Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels and Resorts: Award prices jumped up to a range of 90,000 to 110,000 points per night for a standard award night. While the top end of this standard range remains at 110,000, the point of entry has decreased to 80,000 points per night.
  • Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton: Base rates for standard award nights recently increased to 110,000 points per night but have now decreased to 100,000 per night.
  • Conrad Orlando at Evermore: Base rates for standard award nights recently increased to 105,000 points per night but have now dropped to 90,000 per night.

Note that this is just a sample of what’s happening, and we haven’t seen consistent decreases across the board.

In fact, many of the top properties included in the brutal September devaluation still price out according to what we saw last month. For example, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal and Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafush still price at 250,000 points per night, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island still costs at least 180,000 points per night, the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam remains at 150,000 per night, and the Conrad Tokyo is still priced at 130,000 per night.

What happens from here is anyone’s guess. We hope that this is the beginning of a trend that will see award prices come back (slightly closer) to earth, though it’s hard to get too optimistic with Hilton’s recent track record of inflating award prices without notice.

Final Thoughts

Hilton has backtracked on some of its recent devaluations, decreasing base award rates (even if just slightly) at some properties that were recently affected. We can only hope this is a sign of things to come, but we’ll have to wait until Hilton makes another move to gather more clues about where the program is heading.
