IHG has opened a Holiday Inn Express near the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

Here’s what you need to know.

The Ultimate Convenience to the World’s Busiest Airport

Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport – North has over 200 guest rooms, all boasting multi-functional seating and storage.

True to the Holiday Inn Express brand, the new property isn’t luxurious by any means, but it’s functional for travelers arriving in or transiting through Atlanta (ATL), the world’s busiest airport.

The hotel will cater to travelers on the go by offering an “express breakfast.” Rooms will include a microwave, minifridge, television, coffee, and tea. Additionally, the Holiday Inn Express will have nearly 3,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool.

For travelers looking to be near the airport, this hotel is just a 7-minute drive to the main terminal at ATL.

Bottom Line:

Atlanta is the world’s busiest airport, serving more than 100 million passengers a year. Atlanta serves as the main hub for Delta Air Lines.

“As the leisure travel boom shows no signs of slowing, along with increasing business and group travel, we recognize the opportunities of growing our presence near the world’s busiest airport and offering broader choice to Atlanta visitors,” said Kevin Schramm, Senior Vice President of Development, Mainstream – U.S. and Canada at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

This comes amid a significant expansion for the Holiday Inn Express brand. Just this year, IHG has opened Holiday Inn Express properties in Dallas, Guadalajara, and Glendale, CA, in addition to the nearby Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport-College Park. Additionally, the brand has more than 300 hotels in its U.S. pipeline.

How To Book Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport – North

The Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Airport – North is now open for guests and is participating in the IHG One Rewards program, which means you’ll be able to earn and redeem IHG points.

Rates at the hotel start at just 20,000 points a night for dates in mid-August. Luckily, it’s relatively easy to earn IHG One Rewards points.

IHG offers 3 credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — all issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

You can also earn points for dining out when enrolling in the IHG One Rewards Dining program, using IHG Business Rewards and earning points for hosting qualifying events, or purchasing IHG One Rewards points.

Final Thoughts

While the opening of an airport hotel might not seem like big news, travelers flying through Atlanta will be greeted with yet another convenient hotel option. This is great news, especially for travelers only staying 1 or 2 nights, as award rates are pretty low. If you’re flying through ATL and staying close to the airport, make sure to check out the newest Holiday Inn Express!
