IHG is opening its fifth Hotel Indigo Property in Japan, with the announcement of Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street.

The property is scheduled to open next year — here’s what else you need to know!

Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street To Have 70 Rooms

While IHG hasn’t released many details about Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street, the chain says the hotel will have roughly 70 rooms, dining facilities, and a fitness center.

“The signing of Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street demonstrates the ongoing momentum for the Hotel Indigo brand in this market, as it continues to welcome travelers from around the world with unique and fascinating stay experiences that only Japan can offer,” IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan & Micronesia Managing Director Abhijay Sandilya said.

Nagasaki is a city on the northwest coast of the island of Kyushu, about a 2-hour flight from Tokyo.

Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street will become Japan’s fifth Hotel Indigo-branded property, after Hakone Gora, Karuizawa, and Inuyama, and the upcoming Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya, which opens later this year.

If you’re unfamiliar, Hotel Indigo is an IHG brand focusing on each location’s unique personality. These boutique hotels are all different because they reflect the neighborhood in which they reside, and you’ll see that inspiration in everything from the decor to the restaurant offerings. There are 270 Hotel Indigo properties open or in the pipeline worldwide.

Booking IHG Hotels in Japan

While we wait for the Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street location to open next year, check out IHG’s other hotels in Japan.

IHG has nearly 4 dozen hotels across 6 brands in Japan: InterContinental, Kimpton, ANA Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Hotel Indigo. Additionally, 8 more hotels are in the development pipeline, including Regent Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spa, voco Hotels, and the Vignette Collection.

You have several options if you’re interested in visiting Japan and using IHG One Rewards points.

IHG offers 3 cards — 2 personal and 1 business credit card — all of which are issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.
