IHG has opened its first Hotel Indigo property in Sydney — and it’s incredibly affordable using points.

Here’s what to know!

First Hotel Indigo Property in Sydney

Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point has 105 rooms, some offering private balconies or outdoor terraces. The property is located in the Kings Cross neighborhood, with attractions such as Sydney’s Botanic Gardens, Sydney Harbour, and CBD nearby.

The hotel has a French-Japanese restaurant, an onsite cafe, and a fitness center. Other amenities include an all-day in-room breakfast menu, designer bathrobes, and more.

“No two Hotel Indigos are alike, and with Sydney’s most famous neighborhood as its inspiration, Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point will be another exceptional example of the brand’s culturally rich boutique offering,” said Matt Tripolone, Managing Director of Australasia and Pacific at IHG.

Bottom Line:

This becomes the first Hotel Indigo property in Sydney, one of Australia’s most-visited cities. Aside from the Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point, IHG has 2 other Hotel Indigo properties in the country: the recently-opened Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders and Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre. IHG has nearly 300 Hotel Indigo hotels open or in the pipeline.

Booking Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point With IHG Points

Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point is now open for guests. The property is participating in the IHG One Rewards program, which means you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points during your trip.

Rates at the hotel are pretty reasonable, especially for a hot-spot city like Sydney. You’ll find award nights for as low as 24,000 points for dates next April (IHG doesn’t use an award chart, so rates can vary). Cash rates are also decent at $149 per night.

And, to celebrate the opening, Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point is offering 20% off stays of 2 nights or more.

It’s not difficult to earn IHG One Rewards points, even if you aren’t a frequent traveler. You can transfer Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, IHG offers 3 co-branded credit cards, all of which offer welcome bonuses that can easily cover a stay at this hotel or others.

Final Thoughts

Hotel Indigo is one of IHG’s premium brands, so it makes sense that the chain would bring the brand to the heart of Sydney. With decent award and cash rates — plus a sweet discount — Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point should be popular with business and leisure travelers alike!
