It was a busy week in the world of hotels, highlighted by the news that The Ritz-Carlton will plant its flag in Savannah, Georgia, and continued expansion from IHG’s ultraluxe Six Senses brand. But that’s not all we’re excited about — here’s a look at the biggest hotel news from this week.

Upcoming Hotels

The Ritz-Carlton, Savannah

A major redevelopment of a downtown Savannah, Georgia, tower is officially underway to create a home for the upcoming Ritz-Carlton, Savannah, slated to open in 2028. The 168-key luxury property will offer guests a full range of amenities, including a restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge, a rooftop pool and bar, a full-service spa and wellness center, and meeting spaces.

Six Senses Beijing

The Chinese capital is set to get a brand-new Six Senses property within the Liulangzhuang district, which is quickly becoming a cultural center in the city. The luxurious property will be characterized by its natural setting, featuring lush waterways, lotus ponds, and buildings that reflect the traditional landscape of the Three Hills and Five Gardens area, which served as a hideaway for members of the Qing dynasty.

The hotel will have 75 guest rooms and suites, with some suites offering up to 4 bedrooms. Some rooms will offer private garden spaces and boat jetties, while others will open into shaded courtyards. Six Senses Beijing will join Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in Chengdu as the brand’s second property in mainland China.

Hot Tip:

Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Marrakech

Nikki Beach is headed to Morocco. The international brand, famous for its beach clubs in places like Miami Beach and Monte Carlo, has expanded into full-service hotels and will open one in Marrakech in 2028.

The property will offer over 100 rooms, with one, the Celebration Suite, offering a whopping 5,400-plus square feet of space. Elsewhere, it will have numerous restaurants and bars, and, of course, a beach club featuring a pool, sunken bars, floating platforms, a restaurant on the upper level, a DJ booth, and even retail stores.

The resort will offer a full slate of amenities, including a full-service spa and a sports complex.

Hyatt Celebrates 10 Years of the Unbound Collection With New Properties

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt has turned 10, and to celebrate, the brand is adding new properties. Hotel 1000 in Seattle and The Georgian in Santa Monica, California, are open and bookable through Hyatt’s channels, while Cayo Levantado Resort, a private-island retreat in the Dominican Republic, is open but not slated to join the Unbound Collection until this summer.
