It was a truly global week in the hotel world. A handful of new hotels made their debut in the Philippines, Pakistan, California’s wine country, and other destinations. Plus, we’ve got the details on some exciting openings coming to Montenegro, Thailand, Japan, and more.

Cavalieri Art Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, Malta

The ultra-luxury Radisson Individuals brand has arrived in Malta with the opening of Cavalieri Art Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals.

The hotel has 254 guest rooms and suites, along with 3 dining outlets, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and event spaces.

South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection, Philippines

Accor’s MGallery Collection has opened a new hotel in the Philippines, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection. With 188 guest rooms, the resort offers 3 restaurants, a pool, a fitness center, a spa, and more.

Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg, Dolce by Wyndham, Denmark

Dolce by Wyndham has opened in Denmark’s fourth-largest city. Comwell Hvide Hus Aalborg, Dolce by Wyndham features 198 guest rooms in several room types.

Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, Norway

A former Park Inn by Radisson in Norway has been reimagined into the Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel.

The newly redesigned hotel has 118 guest rooms in a central location near Oslo Opera House and the Munch Museum. Amenities include a restaurant, bar, lounge areas, a gym, and several event spaces.

The Ava Hotel, California

Hilton has opened The Ava Hotel, part of the Curio Collection, in downtown Paso Robles. The hotel — Paso Robles’ first lifestyle-branded hotel — boasts 151 guest rooms and suites. Amenities include 3 restaurants, a rooftop bar, and a poolside lounge.

DoubleTree by Hilton Nathiagali, Pakistan

Hilton has made its debut in Pakistan with the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Nathiagali. The hotel has 110 guest rooms, including 14 suites.

For a DoubleTree hotel, there are a ton of amenities: 4 food and beverage options, including a restaurant serving Thai, Chinese, and Japanese dishes, a spa, a padel court, a fitness center, and an infinity pool.

Upcoming Hotels

Rosewood Calistoga, California (2027)

The luxury Rosewood brand is expanding to California’s wine country. Rosewood Calistoga and Rosewood Residences Calistoga, scheduled to open in 2027, will be located across 118 acres of forest in Calistoga. 

The resort will offer 129 guestrooms, suites, and residences. Amenities will include a signature restaurant, a cocktail bar, a spa with 6 treatment rooms, a fitness center, 2 swimming pools, and a children’s club.

Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences, Tivat, Montenegro (2027)

Radisson is growing its presence in the Balkans, planning to open the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences, Tivat in Montenegro. The hotel will have 61 hotel rooms and 44 serviced apartments, catering to short and long-term guests alike. Amenities will include 2 restaurants, a rooftop bar, a café, a spa, a gym, and 2 indoor swimming pools.

Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences, Tivat, is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027.

voco Bangkok Siam, Thailand (2029)

IHG’s voco brand will open the voco Bangkok Siam in Thailand in 2029. The 350-room hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a rooftop pool. It’s been a busy few years for voco, which now has 107 open hotels in 25 countries, and another 100+ in the pipeline. 

Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka, Japan (2031)

Hyatt announced this week that it would open the Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka, the brand’s first in the city, in 2031. The hotel will have 267 guest rooms, and amenities such as a restaurant, lounge, meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, and a rooftop bar.

Four Points Flex by Sheraton Boosts Presence in Japan

The Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand is increasing its presence in Japan with 3 new hotels open or coming soon in Tokyo. Four Points Flex by Sheraton launched last year as a mid-scale brand offering amenities like complimentary breakfast and free Wi‑Fi.

Here’s a look at the new hotels:

Choice Hotels Expands in the U.S.

Choice Hotels announced this week a sweeping expansion of the Cambria brand. The new openings in California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Maine are part of Choice’s plan to bring the upscale brand to more markets in the U.S.

Here’s what you need to know about the new openings:

  • Cambria Hotel Templeton – Paso Robles, California: This hotel has 132 guest rooms, with amenities including a restaurant, meeting spaces, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, and firepits. Book it from 25,000 Choice Privileges points per night.
  • Cambria Hotel Tampa-Brandon, Florida: The 104-room hotel is a perfect low-cost option for travelers headed to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay or on a cruise. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar serving breakfast and dinner, a fitness center, and a business center. Book from 15,000 Choice Privileges points per night.
  • Cambria Hotel & Suites Plymouth, Massachusetts: This 107-room hotel is located near historical landmarks like Plymouth Rock and Cape Cod National Seashore. Amenities include a restaurant and bar, and pet-friendly accommodations — even an on-site kennel! Book from 15,000 Choice Privileges points per night.
  • Cambria Hotel Portland Downtown Old Port, Maine: The 178-room hotel features a restaurant, a rooftop bar, a fitness center, and a sundry shop. Book from 45,000 Choice Privileges points per night.
Bottom Line:

The U.S. is a massive market for the Cambria brand, with nearly 60 hotels in the pipeline. Future openings include New York’s Times Square and Fort Worth, Texas.

Final Thoughts

August is shaping up to be a busy month in the hotel world. Several brands, including Hilton, Radisson, and Wyndham, have opened new hotels in some exciting destinations. Exciting hotels are also in the pipeline in destinations like Bangkok, Osaka, and Montenegro.
