Other Industry News

ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe Leaving IHG in December

Travelers with upcoming reservations at ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe should note the hotel will leave the IHG portfolio on December 1, 2026, although existing reservations should be honored. It’s worth mentioning that guests staying after the transition won’t receive IHG One Rewards benefits or earn points on their stays, even if they originally booked through IHG.

Wyndham’s Dazzler Select Reaches 14 Hotels

Just a year after launching, Wyndham‘s Dazzler Select brand has grown to 14 properties across the U.S. Recent additions include Majestic Canyon Lodge near the Grand Canyon, Moab Big Horn Lodge in Utah, and Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort in Washington. The brand brings independent hotels into Wyndham’s network while allowing them to retain their individual character, giving Wyndham Rewards members more places to stay.

Marriott Ending mycitizenM+ Memberships

Following its acquisition of citizenM, Marriott is winding down the brand’s paid mycitizenM+ subscription program. Beginning November 17, 2026, the program will reportedly stop accepting enrollments and renewals. The move follows citizenM’s integration into Marriott Bonvoy.

Hilton Could Expand Parking Fees at Select-Service Hotels

Free parking at some Hilton properties could soon become harder to find. According to a Reddit post, Hilton plans to change its brand standards in January 2027, allowing select-service hotels like Hampton Inn to charge for parking.

Hilton hasn’t publicly confirmed the reported change, and it doesn’t mean every property will start charging. Still, travelers may want to double-check parking fees before booking, even at hotels where complimentary parking has been offered in the past.

Final Thoughts

From Thompson’s arrival in Rome to the EDITION’s debut in Cape Town, this week’s hotel news brought some exciting additions for travelers who enjoy luxury properties. Meanwhile, IHG and Wyndham continue to expand their brands.

As always, we’ll be back next week with more hotel news.
