Hotel Indigo is a brand within IHG that focuses on each location’s unique personality. These boutique hotels are all different because they are a reflection of the neighborhood in which they reside, echoing their surroundings in everything from the hotel décor to the food served at the hotel restaurant.
The Hotel Indigo brand started in Atlanta in 2004 and it can now be found all over the world in over 100 locations, from Los Angeles to Singapore to Krakow.
In this post, we’ll look at the best Hotel Indigo locations that you can book with points.
Here’s a quick look at the parameters we used when assembling this list:
- IHG Rewards points are worth ~0.5 cents each. This list includes locations where the points value exceeds this average.
- The most popular travel dates for each location were determined using Google Travel.
- The cash rates used here were based on the cost of a weekend night during the peak travel season for each destination.
- The cents per point value was determined using the average of the cash cost and average points cost of a room over a 2-month period.
Hotel room costs can vary throughout the year so these numbers are just an example of what you could expect when traveling during a peak season for your destination. It’s always good to familiarize yourself with the cash and points costs of your hotel before booking so you know when you’re getting a good deal.

IHG Rewards Club
IHG does not have a set awards chart, so the cost of a hotel in points can vary, and the points cost doesn’t necessarily correlate to the cash cost. IHG Rewards points are valued at ~ 0.5 cents each, so you can always do some easy math to figure out if you’re getting a good deal.
IHG Rewards Credit Cards
IHG offers 2 co-branded credit cards from Chase that can help you earn points fast.
|CREDIT CARD||CARD INFO|
|IHG® Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card|
|IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card|
(at Chase's secure site)
Both of these cards have the same earning power when it comes to gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants, but the IHG Premier card earns more points at IHG hotels and comes with additional benefits like IHG Rewards elite status and a free anniversary night. The IHG Traveler card has fewer perks overall, but it also doesn’t have an annual fee.
Chase Ultimate Rewards Credit Cards
IHG is a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards which means your Chase points can transfer to IHG at a 1:1 ratio. While this can be a good option in some circumstances, it’s generally not the best use of your Chase points. Chase points are valued at ~2 cents each, while IHG Rewards points are only worth ~0.5 cents each.
However, if you need a few extra IHG Rewards points for a specific redemption, transferring a small amount of Chase points could make sense. Chase cards offer different bonus categories than IHG cards, so it often makes sense to have both an Ultimate Rewards earning card and an IHG card.
Here are our recommended Chase personal cards that will help you earn Ultimate Rewards points (that can be transferred to IHG).
|Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card - This is our favorite beginners travel rewards card, which is currently offering Chase's best offer ever of 100,000 point bonus after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. You'll also get a $300 travel credit per year which wipes away a big chunk of the $550 annual fee. Hotel Indigo is a boutique hotel brand by IHG that focuses on each individual hotel’s unique surroundings — this means you won’t find any Hotel Indigo locations that are exactly alike. Travelers who enjoy one-of-a-kind accommodations but also appreciate the comfort of a big brand will love what Hotel Indigo has to offer.
Better yet, Hotel Indigo hotels can be booked using IHG Rewards points. IHG doesn’t have a published award chart, so pricing can be all over the map. However, there are lots of Hotel Indigo locations that offer great value when you pay with points.
