Hyatt has rolled out a positive improvement to its Milestone Rewards — and done so without any fanfare. Now, you’ll find more brands eligible for bonus points on the 2K Next Stay Award.

What’s this perk, and what are the changes? Let’s take a look.

Hyatt Improves 2K Next Stay Award

If you aren’t aware, you can earn choice benefits the more nights you spend with World of Hyatt. These Milestone Rewards include options like suite upgrades, bonus points, and more.

Hyatt and American Airlines announced a deepened partnership late last year, adding some American Airlines-focused benefits in the Milestone Rewards (and some Hyatt-focused options in the Loyalty Point Rewards from AAdvantage). What we didn’t see coming was this particular change to Milestone Rewards.

Upon reaching 20 or 30 nights (or earning 35,000 or 50,000 base points, respectively), you’ll find a 2K Next Stay Award among your Milestone Reward options. Choosing this option provides 2,000 bonus points in your Hyatt account after staying with an eligible brand. You must complete a qualifying stay within 180 days of choosing this perk to receive the bonus points.

When the Milestone Rewards program launched in 2024, 4 Hyatt hotel brands eligible for this award: Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Caption by Hyatt, and UrCove. That list has expanded for 2025, adding 2 more brands: Me and All Hotels and Hyatt Studios.

Hyatt recently acquired the Me and All brand, which has no properties outside central Europe. And the Hyatt Studios brand is an extended-stay brand that will debut in the U.S. this year. Thus, this award has gained options, but those come with a limited footprint.

Bottom Line:

Hyatt has increased the eligible brands from 4 to 6 on the 2K Next Stay Award, available as a choice at 20 or 30 elite nights in the Milestone Rewards program. However, the number of properties covered by these additional brands is limited.

Should You Choose the 2K Next Stay Award?

At 20 and 30 nights, you’ll find the same options for Milestone Rewards. Along with the 2K Next Stay Award, you can choose 2 preferred seat coupons with American Airlines, a $25 FIND experience credit, or 2 Club Access awards to stay in a room with lounge access (at Hyatt properties with a lounge).

Which option should you choose? It depends.

We value Hyatt points at 1.5 cents apiece, making 2,000 points worth $30. That’s more than the $25 FIND credit is worth. However, the value of the other awards can be subjective. Not every property has a lounge, and you may have lounge access through your Hyatt elite status already. What’s the value of getting a better seat with American Airlines or hors d’oeuvres in Hyatt’s lounge? You’ll need to evaluate that when choosing your Milestone Rewards.

Final Thoughts

In a customer-friendly move, Hyatt has added 2 brands to the list of eligible brands for the 2K Next Stay Award, found in Milestone Rewards. This choice is available at both 20 and 30 nights. While this is a nice move, the application is a bit limited, given the footprint of these 2 additional brands.
