Hyatt Hotels is expanding its presence in Türkiye (Turkey) with the opening of the Hyatt Regency Izmir IstinyePark.

Let’s take a look at this new hotel!

Hyatt Regency Izmir Becomes Sixth Hyatt Property in Türkiye

The Hyatt Regency Izmir IstinyePark has officially opened for guests. The property has 160 rooms (including 16 suites) that offer large windows or balconies with sea views. The hotel is located in a prime area of Izmir, a city of over 4 million on Türkiye’s Aegean coast, near shopping and public transit.

Guests have access to 3 suite categories: Regency, Regency Executive, and the Penthouse, which boasts a full kitchen and a spacious terrace.

The hotel features more than 21,000 square feet of event space, a spa, a 24-hour fitness center, and an outdoor pool, plus an all-day restaurant serving Aegean and Mediterranean cuisine.

The new Hyatt Regency becomes the brand’s second hotel in Türkiye and the larger chain’s sixth property in the country.

“Overlooking the tranquil waters of the sunlit Gulf of Izmir, and situated in the thriving heart of Balçova, Hyatt Regency Izmir IstinyePark is an ideal gathering space for everything from productive meetings to energizing vacations,” said General Manager Zafer Canbaz in a statement.

Rates and How To Stay on Points

As far as rates go, this property is highly competitive.

As a Category 1 World of Hyatt property, an award night will cost you just 3,500 points on off-peak dates, 5,000 on standard dates, and 6,500 points on peak dates. Standard options include king and twin rooms with views of the Gulf of Izmir.

If you’re low on World of Hyatt points, you have several options to beef up your balance:

  • The World of Hyatt Credit Card ($95 annual fee) offers
    • Earn 30,000 points when you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months. Plus, up to 30,000 additional points by earning 2x in the first 6 months on purchases that normally earn 1x, on up to $15,000 spent.
    • Earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. Additionally, earn 15K Bonus Points after spending $12,000 in the first 6 months.

Both cards offer complimentary World of Hyatt Discoverist status.

Additionally, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt doesn’t have a significant presence in Türkiye, but opening a Hyatt Regency is pretty big news. Hyatt Regency hotels are found in urban and resort destinations worldwide and feature premium amenities, so it makes sense that the chain would open a property in Izmir. And with rates starting at just 3,500 points per night (for off-peak dates), this hotel is a steal for points and miles enthusiasts!
