A new hotel has opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and it’s an excellent deal with points. Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown marks the return of the brand to Malaysia’s capital and boosts Hyatt’s growth in the city.

Here’s what you should know about Hyatt’s newest luxury hotel in Malaysia and how to book with points.

New Hyatt Hotel Opens in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown has 306 guest rooms and suites, along with 104 serviced residences. The hotel has a whopping 15 rooms and 22 suite types, such as king and twin rooms, Regency Club rooms and suites, and a presidential suite.

Amenities include 3 restaurants, an infinity pool and a pool bar, a fitness center, and several meeting spaces.

This is Hyatt‘s seventh hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The chain already has several brands — like Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, and Hyatt House hotels — open in the city.

Hyatt has been growing its presence in Malaysia this year with some exciting openings.

As we’ve covered previously, the hotel chain recently opened the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, located in the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific. The 232-room hotel is a Category 5 hotel — with award nights starting at 17,000 points per night — which is impressive for a Park Hyatt.

How To Book

Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is now open for guests. The best way to book is with World of Hyatt points — and you’ll definitely want to do so.

That’s because the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur is easily one of the best deals on a luxury hotel in Southeast Asia. The hotel is a Category 2 World of Hyatt property, which means award nights will cost you just 6,500 points on off-peak dates, 8,000 on standard dates, and 9,500 points on peak dates.

If you’re running low, you can earn World of Hyatt points by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio or by having one of the best credit cards for Hyatt loyalists.

Otherwise, you can expect to pay around $110 per night for a room here.

Hot Tip:

The Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur is running a sweet opening offer for up to 25% off, 500 World of Hyatt bonus points, and a 15% dine-in discount with the promo code OPENOF. Make sure to book by September 30, 2025, for stays between September 1 and December 31, 2025.

Final Thoughts

The new Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is a fantastic deal, whether you’re paying cash or using points. It’s rare that we see a luxury hotel on the low end of Hyatt’s award chart, so this hotel is one of the best sweet spots in Asia.
