World of Hyatt continues to further expand its footprint in Europe, with its latest hotel opening of the Hyatt Regency Lisbon.
Let’s take a look at the new hotel!
Hyatt Regency Lisbon Now Open for Visitors
The Hyatt Regency Lisbon features 204 rooms — including 105 suites. Rooms range from standard twin and queen rooms to the top-tier Regency 3-bedroom suite, which features a large private balcony and separate living room with a dining area and kitchenette. All rooms feature river fall showers, and some suites offer views of the Tagus River from the balcony.
Located in downtown Lisbon, the Hyatt Regency Lisbon is close to the Lisbon Congress Center, beaches, and public transit and the hotel is only a 20-minute drive from Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).
There are also numerous food and beverage concepts, from an all-day dining restaurant and bar, to a multipurpose space and a restaurant serving healthy options facing garden views.
A fine dining restaurant is slated to open in the coming months.
The hotel has more than 4,500 square feet across 6 meeting spaces, a wellness spa, and a gym with 2 fitness studios.
“We’re excited to open Hyatt Regency Lisbon and bring a new charm to our historic capital,” Hyatt Regency Lisbon General Manager Hélder Martins said in a statement. The statement went on to say that the property is in a “prime riverfront location,” aimed at helping guests explore the culture and history of Lisbon.
The Hyatt Regency Lisbon has become the chain’s first branded property in Portugal.
As a Category 4 World of Hyatt property, award rates for standard rooms at the Hyatt Regency Lisbon start at 12,000 points per night off-peak, 15,000 points per night for standard dates, and 18,000 points per night for peak nights.
You may also use a Category 1-4 certificate, which can be earned through the Hyatt Brand Explorer promo, staying 30 qualifying nights or earning 50,000 Base Points in a calendar year, or by holding The World of Hyatt Credit Card.

Final Thoughts
Hyatt doesn’t have the most significant footprint in Europe compared with rival chains Hilton, IHG, and Marriott, but that’s beginning to change as the brand expands. Award rates for the property are reasonable, and finding availability shouldn’t be difficult, which is great news for Hyatt loyalists. Opening a property in the popular city of Lisbon is only a sign of bigger things to come for Hyatt in Europe!
