Hyatt has shared that it will debut the Hyatt Regency brand in vibrant Panama City, Panama, next year.

Here’s everything you need to know!

Hyatt Regency Panama City To Open Next Year

Hyatt Regency Panama City will have nearly 400 guest rooms across 2 towers when it opens next year.

The hotel will have a pool, gym, wine bar, coffee shop, outdoor terrace, and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

Catered to business and leisure travelers, the hotel is near a shopping mall and convention center and less than 10 miles from Tocumen International Airport (PTY).

While we don’t have many details about the Hyatt Regency, we know the hotel will open to guests in the summer of 2024.

Hyatt said it has seen “a strong demand in travel” to Central America, which factored into the decision to open a Hyatt Regency in the Panamanian capital.

“The Hyatt Regency brand was built with guests’ needs in mind, considering every detail and design element, and Hyatt Regency Panama City will give travelers the opportunity to explore an urban destination with deep historic roots while giving them the resources and exceptional service needed to have a seamless, intuitive stay experience,” said Camilo Bolanos, Senior Vice President of Development, Latin America & the Caribbean.

Booking Hyatt Hotels in Panama

While the Hyatt Regency Panama City doesn’t open until next summer, Hyatt still has a couple of hotels in the country at which you can redeem World of Hyatt points: Hotel La Compañia in Panama City, a Category 5 property, and the all-inclusive Dreams Playa Bonita Panama, a Category B resort. Both properties start at 17,000 World of Hyatt points per night for off-peak nights.

Hyatt is one of the few hotel chains still using an award chart, though the chain does use peak and off-peak pricing. That means you’ll pay more (or less) depending on your travel dates.

Hot Tip:

While it’s not the easiest to earn World of Hyatt points, if you have a card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points, you can transfer them to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

This is excellent news for World of Hyatt fans, who will soon have a higher-end option for earning and redeeming points in Panama City, Panama. While we wait for this hotel to open next year, check out Hyatt’s other properties in Panama!
