There’s some exciting news from the Big Apple this morning. The much-awaited Hyatt Regency Times Square has officially opened for guests — and it’s a few months ahead of schedule.

“Hyatt Regency Times Square is the most exciting recent addition to New York City’s hotel landscape,” said Mohit Malhotra, general manager at the Hyatt Regency Times Square. “The Hyatt Regency brand offers a seamless travel experience for both business and leisure guests.”

Here’s everything you need to know about the new Hyatt Regency Times Square.

Luxe Hyatt Hotel Opens in Midtown Manhattan

The Hyatt Regency Times Square has a whopping 795 guest rooms and suites. In a nod to Broadway, the hotel also features a MAMMA MIA!-inspired room.

A conversion of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, the hotel now offers a multi-purpose lobby for work and play, a grab-and-go market, a lounge, pet-friendly accommodations, and one of the largest hotel gyms in Manhattan.

Like many hotels in Manhattan, this one charges a daily destination fee of $45.90. The fee covers yoga classes, discounts on hop-on-hop-off buses, museum discounts, and more. This fee is waived on award stays for all guests and for Globalists on paid stays as well.

Interestingly, this hotel has opened months ahead of schedule. As we reported earlier this year, the Hyatt Regency Times Square initially was expected to open on September 1, 2025.

Booking The Hyatt Regency Times Square

The best way to book a stay at the Hyatt Regency Times Square is by using World of Hyatt points.

The hotel is a Category 6 property. That means award nights cost 21,000 points per night during off-peak dates, 25,000 points per night during standard dates, and 29,000 points per night during peak dates.

You’ll find dates at the off-peak rate of 21,000 points in August and from January 2026 onward. However, if you were looking to stay here this year, most of the availability is at the peak rate.

You can earn World of Hyatt points by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio or by having one of the best credit cards for Hyatt loyalists.

If you prefer to book your stay in cash, rates start at approximately $350 per night.

Bottom Line:

Many of Hyatt’s high-end hotels in New York City, like Thompson Central Park New York and Hyatt Union Square New York, are also Category 6 hotels.

Final Thoughts

The Hyatt Regency Times Square is now open, arriving several months ahead of schedule. This is pretty good news for Hyatt loyalists who have a new (and pretty affordable) points hotel in the heart of Times Square. While the destination fee may be annoying, you can easily waive it by booking your stay with World of Hyatt points.
