World of Hyatt will reportedly manage the Margaritaville Beach Resort Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Let’s take a look at this exciting news!

Margaritaville Resort Joining World of Hyatt

Hyatt will reportedly bring the Margaritaville Beach Resort Cap Cana under its Dreams Resorts & Spas brand, according to Dominican news site arecoa.com.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts, a collection of hotels in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe, currently operates the hotel. You’re probably familiar with the brand, even if you haven’t stayed at one of its properties. Karisma operates brands such as Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts, Margaritaville, and Azul Beach Resorts.

According to Arecoa, the hotel will join World of Hyatt as of November 27, 2024 — just in time for the busy winter travel season. However, it is unclear when or if the resort will be bookable with points or what category it may fall under.

In 2021, Hyatt made waves after acquiring Apple Leisure Group, which operated 100+ resorts and hotels worldwide.

Brands such as Alua Hotels & ResortsBreathless Resorts & SpasDreams Resorts & SpasSecrets Resorts & Spa, and Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts now fall under Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection. That collection also includes Hyatt Vivid Hotels & ResortsHyatt Zilara, and Hyatt Ziva.

The Margaritaville Resort will join a crowded market in the Dominican Republic. The brand has 6 resorts in the country alone.

These include resorts like the award Category B Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa (from 17,000 points per night) and the Category C Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana (from 21,000 points per night).

Hyatt uses a separate award chart for all-inclusive hotels. The cheapest resorts, Category A, start at just 12,000 points for off-peak dates. On the other end, the most expensive Category F properties cost between 42,000 and 58,000 points per night.

Hot Tip:

While World of Hyatt points aren’t the easiest to earn, you have several options. The easiest is opening a Hyatt co-branded card and earning points through a welcome bonus or everyday spending. If you have a Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards credit card, you can transfer points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

This is pretty exciting news out of the Dominican Republic. Margaritaville Beach Resort Cap Cana will soon become a Hyatt property, giving travelers yet another all-inclusive points option in the Caribbean nation. We’ll watch this news and update this post when we learn more information!
