One of the best hotels in Bangkok recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, and it’s now reopened for guests.

Let’s take a look at this exciting development!

Makeover Includes Guest Rooms, Dining Options

The 5-star InterContinental Hotels Bangkok is now reopened for guests after a year-long renovation which saw huge updates across the property.

The hotel boasts 381 all-new guestrooms, including Club InterContinental rooms and several suites. Seven dining options include an all-day restaurant, a grill serving European cuisine, and the city’s “first California-inspired” restaurant, IHG says.

Amenities include a rooftop pool with city skyline views, a spa with 9 treatment rooms, a fitness center, and meeting spaces for up to 1,000 guests.

“As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, InterContinental Bangkok is one of Thailand’s most premium hotels,” said Stephen Gould, General Manager at InterContinental Bangkok.

“Over the course of our renovation, we have thoughtfully woven in a blend of modern sophistication and Thai heritage inspired by the traditions of Thai welcoming ceremonies backed by world-class service,” Gould said.

The reopening of the InterContinental Bangkok shouldn’t be confused with the InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit, a new hotel taking reservations starting in March 2024.

IHG has a large presence in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital city. Many of IHG’s well-known brands, including Holiday Inn, Kimpton, and Hotel Indigo, can also be found in the city.

How To Book

The InterContinental Bangkok participates in the IHG One Rewards program, which means you can earn and redeem points for stays. Rates at the hotel start at 39,000 points per night for dates this October. If you prefer to pay cash, you can expect to pay around $250 per night for October stays.

IHG One Rewards points are fairly easy to earn. The hotel chain offers 3 cards — 2 personal and 1 business credit card — which are issued by Chase.

If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points, these can be transferred to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio. You can also earn points for dining out when enrolling in the IHG Dining program, using IHG Business Rewards and earning points for hosting qualifying events, or purchasing points.

Final Thoughts

This is exciting news for IHG One Rewards fans, who can now visit the InterContinental Bangkok again — and earn and redeem points for their stays. With award rates relatively reasonable for a luxury property, this renovated hotel should be at the top of your list if you’re visiting Bangkok soon!
