Despite still being in the honeymoon phase, JetBlue and United are taking their newfound relationship to the next level.

JetBlue’s TrueBlue and United’s MileagePlus members’ status is now recognized when flying the other airline.

“We’re elevating the travel experience by bringing seamless, meaningful perks to life across both airlines,” said Ed Pouthier, vice president of loyalty and personalization at JetBlue.

Let’s take a look at what this could mean for your next flight with JetBlue or United Airlines.

New Blue Sky Perks Unlocked

JetBlue and United‘s Blue Sky collaboration started in October 2025 with reciprocal points earning and redemptions.

The latest update is perhaps the most exciting for frequent flyers: TrueBlue and MileagePlus members who add their frequent flyer number to their booking will now enjoy some of the same perks and benefits they’re used to when flying the other airline.

When flying United, JetBlue Mosaic 2, 3, and 4 status holders will board with Group 1, and Mosaic 1 with Group 2. Additionally, United’s Economy Plus seating will be available to Mosaic status holders at no cost at check-in.

And when flying JetBlue, United Premier Platinum and Premium 1K members will board in Group 1, Premier Gold members in Group 2, and Premier Silver members in Group 3. Similarly, United elites will also get complimentary access to JetBlue’s EvenMore seating at check-in.

Additional reciprocal perks include:

  • Priority check-in and security
  • Complimentary preferred seat selection after booking
  • 1 free checked bag plus priority handling
  • Same-day standby options

Despite both airlines offering lounge access to their top-tier elites, this is a notable exclusion from the new list of reciprocal benefits. This decision was likely made as United has over 50 lounges worldwide, compared to JetBlue’s sole location at JFK.

Reciprocal lounge access could perhaps be reevaluated when JetBlue’s Boston lounge opens later this year.

Hot Tip:

Watch this space for the next confirmed step of the Blue Sky partnership. In 2027, JetBlue will get slots at Newark, and United will get 7 coveted slots at JFK.

Final Thoughts

JetBlue and United’s Blue Sky partnership is going from strength to strength. The partnership is particularly beneficial for New York-based JetBlue and United elite status holders, who’ll now be able to enjoy their status perks and benefits at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark. Well, that’s except for lounge access…
