Starting tomorrow, December 19, 2025, commercial aviation will return to Santa Monica, California (SMO), when JSX commences flights to Las Vegas (LAS).

But, just a day before that service starts, JSX has announced an expansion from the airport, increasing service to Las Vegas and adding a new route to Scottsdale, Arizona (SCF), in January.

“Expanding our Santa Monica service is a direct response to strong demand for smarter, more seamless regional travel,” said CEO Alex Wilcox. “By increasing frequencies and adding new nonstop routes, we’re giving travelers a faster, more comfortable way to connect to the destinations they love.”

Here’s what you need to know.

JSX Expands in Southern California

JSX will launch daily nonstop service between Santa Monica Airport (SMO) and Scottsdale Airport (SCF), beginning on January 22, 2026

This will complement the air carrier’s new, daily flights between Santa Monica Airport (SMO) and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), which we previously reported. JSX is already increasing service on the route to twice-daily, with a further expansion to 3 flights daily starting February 5, 2026.

JSX will fly the ATR 42-600 turboprop aircraft, which seats just 30 passengers.

Onboard, guests will enjoy amenities such as complimentary cocktails, in-seat charging, and extra legroom. Additionally, the air carrier plans to roll out Starlink Wi-Fi across its ATR fleet in early 2026, pending certification.

JSX is a “hop-on” public charter jet service founded back in 2016. Today, it operates flights at 29 airports across the United States and Mexico with a fleet of 51 Embraer jets and 2 ATR turboprop jets.

Booking JSX’s New Flights to Scottsdale

JSX’s new flights connecting Santa Monica and Scottsdale are now on sale. We’re seeing one-way flights for as little as $199, which is an incredible deal for a seat on a semi-private carrier. If you’re a Club JSX member (you can enroll for free), you’ll also earn 5% towards future travel.

If you’re interested in any of these new routes, be sure to book through jsx.com or the JSX mobile app (iOS, Android). Once you’ve picked your flights, make sure to book with a credit card that rewards you for travel purchases. JSX doesn’t have its own credit card; however, you can still earn rewards by using a card that offers bonus points or miles on flights or travel.

Hot Tip:

You can also book through JSX’s airline partner United Airlines, where you’ll earn miles on your flights.

Final Thoughts

JSX is launching new flights between Santa Monica and Scottsdale, and increasing the frequency from daily to 3 times daily to Las Vegas. This is excellent news for travelers who want to experience a semi-private air carrier at a fraction of the cost of a private jet.
