Inside Kyra Lounge in Hong Kong: Asia’s Most Beautiful Priority Pass Lounge

After a 12-hour flight from Madrid (MAD) to Hong Kong (HKG) in economy, I was exhausted, achy, and starving — all things that a visit to a gorgeous lounge could easily fix.

Enter the award-winning Kyra Lounge, which isn’t your typical Priority Pass lounge. It was the perfect place to spend a few hours after a long flight and before another 3-hour one.

Here’s everything you need to know about this top lounge and why it deserves its accolades.

Kyra Lounge Stats: What To Know

Let’s back things up. The first Kyra Lounge at Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International (HKG) opened in July 2024 near gate 23 in Terminal 1. I was immediately intrigued when I realized the lounge won the Priority Pass Excellence Award for the Asia-Pacific region in both 2025 and 2026.

Priority Pass picks its winners based on unique or innovative offerings. I’m not exactly sure what this refers to, but I can say this lounge was one of the most beautiful and stylish Priority Pass lounges I’ve visited (and I’ve seen many of them in numerous countries over the years of traveling).

It’s also worth noting that another Kyra Lounge has recently opened in Terminal 1 of the Hong Kong Airport near Gate 40. It’s where the first Chase Sapphire by the Lounge used to be. The Chase Sapphire by the Lounge closed its doors on January 5, 2026, and the second Kyra Lounge opened its doors on January 10, 2026.

Although I didn’t visit this lounge, I imagine it looks similar to the former Chase Sapphire Lounge, since 5 days isn’t enough time for a major renovation. I hope to visit this Kyra location on my next trip to see how it measures up, but for now, I’ll be detailing my experience at the other, award-winning Kyra lounge.

Why the Kyra Lounge Stands Out

The Kyra Lounge in Hong Kong is beautiful and has delicious food. Here are all the reasons why you should (or shouldn’t) visit.

1. It’s Absolutely Stunning

I realize I was in a slight jet-lag stupor when I visited, but this lounge is truly stunning from a design perspective. It features one-of-a-kind ceilings, wall textures, and light installations, complete with velvet furniture, artwork, and sculptures throughout its bar, dining, and seating areas.

Muted jewel tones, like teal, gold, and gray, worked well together and elevated the lounge’s look. I also enjoyed the teal section of the ceiling, which was really unique.

The fixture above the bar was eye-catching.

Even the lounge’s private bathrooms were beautiful, decked out with wood paneling, rose-gold fixtures, and, best of all, Rituals hand soap and hand lotion.

Looks aren’t everything, but this lounge was aesthetically stunning, which is a welcome change from the typical dreary, dated airport lounge.

2. The Food and Drinks Are Delicious

I’ll be honest: While a chic design is welcome, it’s not necessarily the first thing I look for in a lounge during a layover. Mostly, I want to relax in a comfortable space and eat well.

And eat well I did. I got lucky, entering the lounge as they were switching the food from breakfast to lunch. During my first round of eating (I hadn’t eaten much at all on my 12-hour flight, so I was starving), I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, a grilled tomato, fresh fruit, a dumpling, and a small chia pudding.

I enjoyed a tasty breakfast.

Then, as I went back, I noticed the lunch foods: sweet-and-sour chicken, dumplings, fresh fish, and veggie stir-fry. There were plenty of vegetarian options, and the food was varied, with both Western and Asian dishes.

Both the breakfast and lunch spreads looked appetizing, and the food I ate tasted just as good as it looked. After eating, I wandered over to the bar. I’d heard the lounge had special cocktails and mocktails, so I roped my husband into trying mocktails. We ordered two of the 3 signature drinks: the Ruby Glow (fruit juice with sugar syrup and chia seeds) and the Golden Spritz (a variety of fruit juices with cucumber and raspberry syrup).

Both were delicious, light, and refreshing. I was too tired and jet-lagged to opt for a cocktail, unfortunately, but I’d love to come back to try one before an evening flight.

3. It Feels Spacious and Comfortable

The lounge isn’t a massive space, but it felt airy and never got overly crowded during my visit. In fact, it felt as if the entire space had been designed by a master feng shui expert, with every detail perfectly planned in advance.

The lounge was downstairs from the gate area, and when I was heading down, I expected a darker space, but the giant windows let in light and offered gorgeous tarmac views.

I also appreciated the different seating. At the very back, there was a roped-off VIP area, and I’m not sure who had access to it.

Beyond that, there were a few pod areas for resting and working, some high-top shared tables, and a mix of sofa and chair seating with tables. Cozy armchair seating lined part of the area in front of the windows, while bar seating lined another part.

Closer to the food, there were chairs and tables best suited for dining. I felt much more relaxed and ready to take on another flight after being a part of this beautiful space, and I would happily return here to enjoy the decor and views alone.

4. Expect Small, Welcome Details

I don’t usually expect a lounge to think of every detail, but the Kyra lounge did. The napkins were perfectly folded into a swirled tower at the start of the buffet. Beautiful gold-plated silverware on a blue silk towel and rose-gold-accented chopsticks were placed near the napkins. Plants and vases occupied empty spaces.

Even the coffee machine was sleek, and they offered Harley & Sons tea, which I love. Everything felt fancy; even the staff’s attention to detail was unlike that of a typical lounge experience. People walked around cleaning things up frequently, asked me if I needed anything, and were genuinely helpful when I asked a question about my gate.

I really noticed the attention to detail, which stood out compared to any other Priority Pass lounge I’ve visited.

5. No Nap Areas or Shower Rooms

It’s worth noting that, as beautiful as the lounge is, it’s small. There aren’t any nap rooms, family rooms, or showers. Although it wasn’t overly crowded during my visit, I could see the lounge limiting entrance if a lot of people were inside.

If you need to shower or you want to lie down and sleep, this isn’t the best space for you. However, if you want tasty food, excellent plane-watching, signature drinks, helpful service, and a comfortable, stylish space to relax between flights, this Kyra Lounge is your spot.

Final Thoughts

I had never been to an award-winning Priority Pass lounge before, and the Kyra Lounge in Hong Kong was a welcome surprise. I was impressed with the design, service, attention to detail, and the way they made a small space look bright and welcoming. I can’t wait to visit this lounge again, and I hope to finish the terminal’s second Kyra Lounge, too.
