You may be surprised to learn that Chase’s first-ever airport lounge opened in Hong Kong. The Chase Sapphire Lounge network has expanded significantly since October 2022.

However, it appears to be shrinking slightly soon, as Chase is closing the Hong Kong Sapphire Lounge in January 2026. Here’s what we know so far.

Chase Closing Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club network has expanded significantly since opening its first lounge in Hong Kong in October 2022. Now, however, it appears the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong is closing, as first reported by AwardWallet.

If you visit Chase’s list of lounges to see locations and hours, you’ll now see a “closing” message for the Hong Kong (HKG) lounge, stating that it will close on January 5, 2026.

There’s no further information available, such as what will happen to the lounge after January 5 or whether Chase’s cardholders will gain access to a new space when this one closes. We’ve reached out to Chase to learn more about what’s happening. A spokesperson said that “a statement will be coming later,” but declined to comment further at this time.

Given that there’s no messaging about this closure being temporary, the lounge relocating, or other details, we can only assume this is a permanent closure. This space may join another lounge network in the future, but we know it’s exiting the Chase Sapphire Lounge network as of January 5, 2026.

Other Lounge Options in Hong Kong

While the loss of the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong is disappointing, there are many other lounges in Hong Kong — including solid options available with your Priority Pass membership.

Options include the Kyra Lounge near gate 23, 3 different Plaza Premium Lounge locations, an Amex Centurion Lounge, and multiple airline-specific lounges like Cathay Pacific, Qantas, and more. Granted, access to some of these lounges requires flying in a premium cabin or holding elite status with a particular airline.

Final Thoughts

The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong was the first location to open in Chase’s relatively new airport lounge network. Now, this location is closing, as confirmed by a spokesperson for Chase and messaging on the lounge network’s website.
