The 21-story, 165-room Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue is now open for guests, Marriott announced on December 19.

Let’s take a look at this new property.

New Hotel Becomes Second Le Méridien in NYC

The Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue is located on Fifth Avenue between West 30th and West 31st streets. The hotel is steps from Madison Square Park, the Flatiron building, and numerous transit options such as MTA and the PATH.

The hotel features 165 rooms, 17 of that are apartment-style residences, which Marriott says are for guests staying for an extended period, with 6 featuring walk-out terraces. All rooms feature bath products from MALIN+GOETZ, 4k television sets, and more.

The hotel features a communal space dubbed, the Le Méridien Hub, which Marriott says is a “reinterpretation” of a standard hotel for guests and will serve coffee during the day and cocktails at night. An all-day restaurant will serve Italian cuisine.

“As we continue to celebrate the brand’s momentous 50th anniversary this year, we’re delighted to expand on our global footprint and bring a distinct stay experience and chic signature programs to creative-minded travelers visiting New York City,” Jennifer Connell, Global Brand Leader at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement.

The hotel will join the Marriott Bonvoy program, and members can earn and redeem points at the property. Rates at the Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue, start at around $170 per night for dates in February 2023, or 63,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Marriott Bonvoy loyalists who often travel to New York might be familiar with another Le Méridien, the Le Méridien New York, Central Park, located on West 57th Street. Rates at the Central Park hotel range from 55,000 to 70,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

If you’re low on Marriott Bonvoy points, there are several ways to earn a ton of points quickly. You might consider opening a Marriott Bonvoy-earning personal and business credit card, or transferring since it is a Chase hotel partner or Amex hotel partner, or even linking to your Uber account.

Bottom Line: Le Méridien is 1 of Marriott’s 30 signature brands under the “distinctive premium” umbrella. The hotel brand is known for modern designs and cuisine curated for travelers looking to explore.

Final Thoughts

While there is no shortage of Marriott Bonvoy properties in New York City, travelers now have a new option for a luxury stay at an affordable cash rate. If you’re a Marriott loyalist and planning to visit the Big Apple soon, Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue is a solid choice for your stay!
