Travelers on the West Coast will soon have another nonstop option to Europe, and this time, it’s coming straight from Poland.

LOT Polish Airlines is gearing up to launch nonstop flights between Warsaw and San Francisco, giving Bay Area flyers a new gateway to Central and Eastern Europe.

Before you start planning your summer travels, here’s what to know about this new route.

San Francisco Becomes LOT’s Sixth U.S. Destination Next Summer

LOT Polish Airlines will expand its U.S. footprint again next summer, as first reported by One Mile at a Time, with a new seasonal route linking Warsaw (WAW) and San Francisco (SFO) starting May 6, 2026. This will become the carrier’s sixth U.S. destination, joining Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), and Newark (EWR).

The new route will operate 4 times per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with the following schedule:

Thursdays and Sundays

  • Depart Warsaw (WAW) 11:15 a.m. — Arrive San Francisco (SFO) 1:50 p.m.
  • Depart San Francisco (SFO) 3:50 p.m. — Arrive Warsaw (WAW) 12:05 p.m. (+1)

Wednesdays and Saturdays

  • Depart Warsaw (WAW) 5:40 p.m. — Arrive San Francisco (SFO) 8:15 p.m.
  • Depart San Francisco (SFO) 10:15 p.m. — Arrive Warsaw (WAW) 6:30 p.m. (+1)

The flight covers just under 5,900 miles, and flying time is just about 11.5 hours in each direction. LOT will use its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet for the route, primarily the smaller 787-8, which includes 18 fully flat business-class seats in a 2-2-2 layout, 21 premium economy seats, and 213 economy seats.

The business class product isn’t the flashiest, but the layout can be great for couples or anyone who prefers a more open cabin feel. Given that LOT is a Star Alliance carrier operating out of a major United hub, travelers can expect easy onward connections from SFO, making the new route especially convenient for summer travel.

Hot Tip:

If you want to try LOT’s Dreamliner business class, you can book the new San Francisco route for as few as 70,000 Aeroplan points or 88,000 United MileagePlus miles one-way. Snagging a lie-flat seat to Europe from the West Coast at this rate is an exceptional value, especially during the busy summer season.

Final Thoughts

LOT’s upcoming San Francisco–Warsaw flights bring a welcome new nonstop option for West Coast travelers heading to Europe. With its convenient Star Alliance connectivity, Dreamliner comfort, and potentially strong award availability, it’s a route worth keeping an eye on for summer 2026 planning.
