Hilton has signed an agreement with an existing hotel on Australia’s Gold Coast to bring its high-end LXR Hotels & Resorts brand to the seaside destination in Southeast Queensland.

“The Gold Coast provides an ideal setting for LXR’s distinctive approach to luxury, where place, design, and experience are deeply connected. The property holds one of the most alluring positions along the city’s main coastal corridors and will introduce the independent spirit of LXR to the Australian market,” said Tushar Raniga, director, development, Australasia, Hilton.

Hilton’s High-End LXR Brand Coming to Australia’s Gold Coast

Hilton has inked a deal with Islander Hotel Trading Pty Ltd. to open an LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Gold Coast, Australia, a beachside city on the Pacific Ocean renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches, incredible surfing, and laid-back lifestyle.

The hotel is formally known as Palazzo Versace but is currently operating as The Imperial Hotel. It will open under Hilton’s high-end LXR brand in 2027 and offer 200 guest rooms, direct access to the Gold Coast Broadwater, and a location near popular sites like Marina Mirage.

When it opens in 2027, this property will be LXR Hotels & Resorts’ first in Australia, a significant expansion for the growing luxury brand, which currently has 36 hotels open or in the pipeline worldwide.

How To Book

While rooms aren’t yet for sale via Hilton’s direct channels, the chain confirmed it will participate in the Hilton Honors program, meaning members will be able to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points for stays. Elite members will also be entitled to benefits, including complimentary breakfast for eligible guests.

Currently, there’s just 1 other Hilton Honors property in Gold Coast, the Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel & Residences. It can be booked from AU$249 (approximately $175) or 60,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

We can confidently expect the forthcoming Gold Coast LXR property to cost considerably more, given the brand’s much higher caliber. It’s not uncommon to see award nights starting at 95,000 Hilton Honors points or more at many LXR properties across the globe.
