Lyft has shared some updates that will make rides more rewarding — especially for those who use a Lyft Business account.

However, business riders aren’t the only ones who will see a boost — personal riders will also see an improvement in earnings with a specific partner.

Let’s take a look at what’s changing with the Lyft rewards program.

Lyft Improves Earning Rates for Business and Personal Riders

If you’re enrolled in your company’s Lyft Business account, you’ll be excited to learn that your rides are about to get more rewarding.

Starting August 4, 2025, Lyft Business riders can earn Lyft Cash and rewards with partner programs on each ride they take. Here’s a look at the earning structure:

  • 6% back on standard rides (Standard, Priority, XL, Pet, Wheelchair, Green)
  • 8% back on premium rides (Black, Black SUV, Extra Comfort)
  • 8% back on any scheduled or airport ride

Rewards are earned in the form of Lyft Cash, which can be used for future rides, even if they’re on your personal account. The earning structure above applies only to rides that are taken under a valid Lyft Business account.

On top of earning Lyft Cash, Lyft Business riders can earn rewards with either Hilton Honors or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan:

  • Earn 6 Hilton Honors points per dollar spent on most business rides (personal rides earn 3 points per dollar).
  • Earn 4 to 6 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles per dollar spent on most business rides (personal rides earn 2 to 3 points per dollar).

Business riders aren’t the only ones who will see improved earnings. Personal riders who have elected to earn Alaska miles on rides will earn points at the following updated rates:

  • Earn 2 points per dollar spent on Standard, Priority Pickup, and XL rides.
  • Earn 3 points per dollar spent on airport rides and premium rides, including Black, Black SUV, and Extra Comfort.

Lyft personal riders can also choose to earn rewards in the Bilt Rewards (2 points per dollar spent) and Hilton Honors (3 points per dollar spent) programs.

Hot Tip:

If you have an eligible Chase card, you’re eligible for a range of perks with Lyft through September 30, 2027.

Final Thoughts

Lyft is making improvements to its rewards program that will make business riders especially happy, with up to 8x earnings on some rides. Even if you don’t have a Lyft Business account, personal rides will soon get more rewarding if you choose to earn Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles each time you ride.
