Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Lyft estimates that 2 million people will use its services to vote on election day. To make it easier for riders to do so, it is offering up to 50% off rides during Election Day.

Here’s what you need to know!

Election Day Lyft Promotion

The ride-share app Lyft will offer 50% off (up to $10) ride-share, bike, and scooter rides to the polls on Election Day. You’ll need to use the promo code VOTE24 to be eligible. Unlike some promo codes, this code appears to be valid whether you’re a new or existing Lyft rider.

The offer is a great way to stack benefits. That’s because Lyft has partnerships with other travel providers, allowing you to double-dip for more benefits — for example, Hilton Honors and Alaska Airlines. For the former, you’ll earn 3x points per $1 spent on Lyft private rides and 2x points per $1 spent on shared rides. For the latter, the earning rate is 1x mile per $1 spent on Lyft rides in the U.S. and Canada.

Below, we’ll talk about the best credit cards for Lyft (and other ride-share apps).

Hot Tip:

Lyft is 1 of several ride-share apps in the marketplace. You’re probably familiar with some, but check out our guide to the 10 best perks and benefits for Lyft passengers!

Best Credit Cards for Lyft Rides

As I mentioned above, Lyft has several travel partnerships, including with some major credit card issuers. And if you’re using Lyft to go to the polls, make sure to use a credit card that earns bonus rewards on ride-share services. Our favorites include:

Additionally, if you have a U.S. World or World Elite Mastercard, you can get a $5 Lyft credit when you pay for 3 rides with your card in a month.

Final Thoughts

Lyft is doing a good deed, encouraging people to vote in the election by offering discounts on rides to the polls. This is an excellent opportunity to double- or even triple-stack benefits, especially if you pay with a travel credit card.
