Historic Nepali Hotel Joins Marriott Bonvoy

The Soaltee Kathmandu, Autograph Collection is a historic hotel in Nepal, with roots dating back to the 1960s.

The hotel has 285 guest rooms and suites, each with Nepali elements, high-end furnishings, and contemporary technology.

Soaltee Kathmandu features 5 dining outlets, including an all-day restaurant serving a signature Nepali thali, as well as restaurants offering Awadhi-Indian and Chinese cuisine. Amenities include a spa, a pool, a clay court, and a 24-hour fitness center.

The hotel offers prime views of the Himalayan mountain range and the sacred Swoyambhunath Stupa. Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), the nearest airport, is located just over 5 miles away.

This is the first Autograph Collection hotel (and Marriott’s 19th brand) in South Asia, which the hotel giant defines as India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. If you aren’t familiar with it, Autograph Collection is known for its hotels’ unique design and authentic experiences. Today, Marriott has more than 300 Autograph Collection hotels across more than 50 countries and territories.

How To Book The Soaltee Kathmandu

True to many hotels, even luxury ones, in Asia, The Soaltee Kathmandu is reasonably affordable with both cash and Marriott Bonvoy points.

Cash rates here start at just $128 per night. In fact, we don’t see any prices over $160, which is an excellent rate for any ultra-luxury hotel.

However, the best deal is with Marriott Bonvoy points, which offer award nights starting at just 20,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

There aren’t many points hotel options in Nepal, so anytime a new hotel opens in the country, it’s huge news. What makes The Soaltee Kathmandu even more special is its affordability, especially when using Marriott points. This hotel is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a high-end stay in Nepal without spending a ton.
