Marriott is expanding its higher-end Autograph Collection brand in Saudi Arabia, with the opening of a property in AlUla in the coming years.

Let’s take a look at the news.

Hotel Opens in Downtown AlUla in 2025

Marriott announced on September 13, 2023, that it would open an Autograph Collection hotel in the northwest Saudi Arabian city of AlUla.

Marriott hasn’t released the hotel’s name, but it is expected to have 250 rooms and suites, 4 dining venues, a spa, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a business center, meeting facilities, and retail space.

The hotel will be located in central AlUla, near the AlUla Museum and across from the AlUla Farmer’s Market. It is expected to open to guests in 2025.

“Autograph Collection Hotels feature curated properties that celebrate individuality, and AlUla is an ideal fit with its unique sense of place and history. We look forward to bringing a distinct perspective on design and hospitality to this thriving area,” said Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President, Lodging Development, Middle East at Marriott.

If you aren’t familiar, the Autograph Collection is a member of Marriott’s Premium portfolio, which includes other brands such as Le Meridien, Sheraton, and Westin. Autograph Collection has nearly 300 hotels worldwide. This will be Marriott’s debut of the Autograph Collection in the Kingdom.

Booking Marriott Bonvoy Hotels in Saudi Arabia

While we wait for the AlUla Autograph Collection property to open in 2025, let’s take a look at other Marriott Bonvoy properties in Saudi Arabia. Marriott has a sizable presence in the Kingdom, with over 3 dozen hotels across 12 brands.

These include several high-end hotels, such as The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh, which starts at 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for dates this fall (or $483), or the Assila, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jeddah, for 35,200 points per night.

It shouldn’t be difficult to earn Marriott Bonvoy points if you need them to top up your account balance ahead of a redemption. Marriott offers several co-branded credit cards with substantial welcome offers. You can then redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at hotels and resorts worldwide, including throughout Saudi Arabia.

Hot Tip:

You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points and American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

Marriott is debuting its Autograph Collection brand in Saudi Arabia with a scheduled opening sometime in 2025. While we don’t know much yet about the hotel, this is excellent news for travelers seeking another high-end option for using points in Saudi Arabia!
