Hawaiian Airlines has undergone much change lately, including ending several key partnerships. The latest on the chopping block is Marriott Bonvoy.

Customers will lose the ability to convert their Marriott Bonvoy hotel points into HawaiianMiles later this month. This isn’t a big surprise given that HawaiianMiles will cease to exist after October 1, 2025, when it will be fully integrated into Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.

Here’s what you need to know about this change.

How To Transfer Marriott Points to Hawaiian Airlines

You can currently transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to the HawaiianMiles program at a 3:1 ratio. Plus, for every 60,000 points you transfer, you’ll receive 5,000 bonus miles in your Hawaiian Airlines account. This means that 60,000 Marriott points equals 25,000 airline miles.

So far, there’s no message on the Marriott transfer page saying that this partnership will end. However, the Hawaiian Airlines updates page now states:

“The last day to redeem HawaiianMiles for Marriott Bonvoy points will be August 20, 2025. Once you’ve linked your HawaiianMiles account to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, you can continue to earn Mileage Plan miles for stays at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy and transfer Mariott Bonvoy points to Mileage Plan miles.”

Marriott Is the Latest Hawaiian Partner To Drop

Hawaiian Airlines is undergoing massive change as it winds down operations. If you haven’t followed along, here’s a quick recap:

With all of that context, it’s unsurprising that points transfers from Marriott Bonvoy to HawaiianMiles are ending. After all, the HawaiianMiles loyalty program will be discontinued in a few months.

You can continue to transfer Hawaiian Airlines miles into Alaska Airlines miles until further notice. However, once the programs become a single entity, that feature will no longer exist. You can also transfer Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan at the same rate as the Hawaiian option, and we don’t expect this to change.

Final Thoughts

We haven’t encouraged transferring Marriott points to HawaiianMiles, given the historically low value of Hawaiian miles. That said, having the option has been nice for travelers who have a lot of hotel points and need to top up for a specific redemption.

If you’ve used this feature, you can continue to do so until it goes away on August 20. After that, you can continue to transfer Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to book Hawaiian Airlines award tickets.
