The epitome of sleek, minimalist luxury, Marriott’s EDITION brand has opened its doors in the heart of Madrid, Spain’s vibrant capital.
Following the success of The Barcelona EDITION, the culture and vibrance of Madrid made the city a high priority for a property of its own.
“Madrid, for us, is a truly world-class capital. It’s just a beautiful city that marches to its own beat and goes its own way,” said Ian Schrager, visionary pioneer of EDITION Hotels.
Let’s find out more about the latest must-visit, 5-star hotel to open its doors in Madrid.
The All-New Madrid EDITION
According to Marriott, The Madrid EDITION is the city’s “first luxury lifestyle urban resort.” It’s located in the heart of the city, just a few minutes away on foot from Puerta del Sol (a major plaza in the center of the city) and Gran Via (the city’s most prominent thoroughfare).
A world-class dining experience is an integral part of any EDITION experience and the Madrid property is no exception. Its 2 main restaurants are run by celebrated chefs. On the street level is the Mexican-influenced Jerónimo, helmed by superstar Chef Enrique Olvera.
And on the fourth-floor roof terrace, you’ll find Oroya, helmed by Peruvian Chef Diego Muñoz. Guests will enjoy a specially designed menu rich with classic tapas-style dishes in a contemporary cage-like structure fabricated from glass and steel, making for the perfect indoor/outdoor dining experience.
But, that’s not all. The Madrid EDITION has no less than 3 unique bar experiences, as well as a soon-to-open after-dark venue on the lower ground floor.
Similar to its sister property in Barcelona, The Madrid EDITION features an outdoor rooftop pool with expansive views over the capital.
“[The Madrid EDITION] is a true hub of popular culture, entertainment, and social interaction that is a microcosm of the best of Madrid and that perfectly captures the city’s spirit and essence,” said Schrager.
The nightly rate for a stay at The Madrid EDITION is, as you might imagine, not cheap. Cash rates for a base-level room will set you back at least €637 (~$707) per night. Of course, this property participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, meaning you can redeem Marriott Bonvoy points to book a stay. As a higher-end property, a free night will cost you 70,000+ points, depending on the date.
The addition of an EDITION hotel makes any city instantly more desirable. Madrid is the latest city to welcome the exciting Marriott brand, and The Madrid EDITION will give visitors the opportunity to experience Spain’s capital in a way that wasn’t possible before.
