I chase Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status every year, and I’ve written before about why the hotel perks alone make it worth the effort for me. But there’s a side benefit that has grown into one of my favorite aspects of holding this status: I now get elite status with 3 different airlines without stepping on a single plane.

Thanks to a new partnership, my Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status now gives me complimentary status with United Airlines, Air Canada, and Japan Airlines every year. None of this is top-tier status, to be clear, but each of these programs offers perks I actually use.

Here’s how I get 3 airline statuses by earning just 1 hotel status.

How 1 Hotel Elite Status Tier Becomes 3 Airline Statuses

First, the hotel part. Titanium Elite is the fourth tier in Marriott Bonvoy, and reaching it requires earning 75 Elite Night Credits in a calendar year. That sounds like a lot, but you can start each year with up to 40 Elite Night Credits automatically by holding the right mix of Marriott’s co-branded credit cards, which halves the number of nights you have to sleep in a hotel to reach this tier.

The hotel benefits above Titanium Elite are what keep me coming back: a Free Night Award worth up to 40,000 points as my 75-night Annual Choice Benefit, suite upgrades that now include Ritz-Carlton properties, and 75% bonus points on paid stays.

I’ve redeemed those Free Night Awards for hotels in the Maldives, Hawaii, and the United Arab Emirates, each time at well over $350 in value.

But the reason I’m writing this is the airline status. Marriott’s partnerships with United and Air Canada have handed Titanium Elite members complimentary airline status for a while. The newest addition is Japan Airlines. On July 14, 2026, Marriott and JAL launched a reciprocal partnership that deposits annual JAL FLY ON Points into your account just for linking your Marriott Bonvoy and JAL Mileage Bank accounts.

As a Titanium Elite benefit, I get 30,000 FLY ON Points a year, and that’s exactly enough to reach JAL’s entry-level status. That took my count from 2 complimentary airline statuses to 3.

United Premier Silver

The lowest tier of United MileagePlus is where Marriott’s partnership puts me, and I’ll be honest, upgrades at this level are rare. However, the everyday perks earn their keep.

Premier Silver gets me a free checked bag in economy, Group 2 boarding so I can find overhead bin space, and the ability to select extra-legroom seats at check-in for me and 1 companion on the same reservation. I also earn an extra 2 miles per $1 spent with United.

United Airlines A321neo first class — It’s rare, but I’ve been upgraded to first class with my United Premier Silver status.

To earn Premier Silver the normal way, you’d need to rack up 5,000 Premier Qualifying Points (PQPs) plus 15 Premier Qualifying Flights — with at least 4 qualifying flights on United — or 6,000 PQPs on their own. I get it for holding a hotel status.

Aeroplan Elite 25K

Air Canada’s Aeroplan program grants Titanium and Ambassador Elite members complimentary Elite 25K status, which is the entry tier. This one carries more weight than you’d expect at the bottom rung.

Elite 25K includes 2 free checked bags on Air Canada-operated flights, 2 Maple Leaf Lounge passes, priority check-in and boarding, complimentary preferred seats at check-in, eUpgrade credits, and priority on waitlists and standby.

Normally, reaching Elite 25K means earning 25,000 Status Qualifying Credits. Those lounge passes, free checked bags, and upgrade eligibility make this a status I’m glad to have in my back pocket.

These complimentary eUpgrades can be used to move into premium economy or upgrade to business class on Air Canada.

JAL Crystal

This is the new one. Linking my accounts deposits 30,000 FLY ON Points annually, which is the requirement for JAL Crystal status, the lowest tier in JAL Mileage Bank. Crystal provides Oneworld Ruby status, so the perks extend across Oneworld partners like American Airlines, British Airways, Qatar Airways, and Cathay Pacific — not just JAL.

Crystal status offers business class priority check-in lines, access to preferred and prereserved seating, priority on waitlists and standby, and bonus miles on qualifying flights.

Earning it the traditional way would take 30,000 FLY ON Points (including 15,000 on JAL Group flights) or 30 flights with a JAL component. That’s a serious flying commitment for a status I now get just for linking 2 accounts online.

Final Thoughts

I already thought Titanium Elite was worth chasing for the hotel perks, and I’ll keep pursuing it regardless of what the airlines do. But a third complimentary airline status only reinforces that decision for me. United Premier Silver, Aeroplan Elite 25K, and now JAL Crystal each come with checked bags, better seating, or lounge passes I’d otherwise have to fly a lot to earn.

None of these is top-tier status. However, when stacked on top of the Free Night Award and the hotel benefits I get, receiving 3 airline statuses from 1 hotel status makes Titanium Elite an easy goal to keep setting each year.
