Monterey Beach Hotel, the only beachfront property on the Monterey Peninsula just opened in California. As part of the Marriott Tribute Portfolio brand, this new hotel is an exciting addition to Marriott’s portfolio.

Let’s jump into the details of this new Marriott hotel.

Monterey Beach Hotel, A Marriott Tribute Portfolio Property

Monterey Beach Hotel has just undergone extensive renovations and rebranding and has reopened under its original name (it originally opened in 1967). It’s the only beachfront hotel in the area, with 600 linear feet of shoreline offering panoramic ocean views. Conveniently located along Highway 1, guests can easily access local attractions in downtown Monterey, Big Sur, and Santa Cruz.

Hotel amenities include a heated outdoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness center, an onsite retail market, and complimentary e-bikes. Scandinavian-inspired saunas and ice baths will be introduced this fall.

The hotel’s aesthetic is inspired by California living, complete with custom furnishings, local artwork, and natural materials. The 188 guest rooms and 4 suites are well-appointed with plush bedding and bath amenities by D.S. & DURGA. Most rooms feature unobstructed ocean views.

There are 3 dining establishments on site. The Lantern Room, the hotel’s signature restaurant, serves California-inspired dishes for breakfast and dinner daily. Tidewater is a beachfront cocktail lounge with fire pits and live music — the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The Lobby Lounge is the place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. It also serves a menu anchored by locally sourced ingredients.

How to Book Monterey Beach Hotel

Monterey Beach Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is bookable through Marriott using cash or Marriott Bonvoy points.

Cash costs average around $350 per night, however we found a handful of nights this fall for under $300. The cost in points starts at around 66,000 Marriott points per night.
