Hilton is opening a new Motto hotel in New York’s Times Square, its second Motto hotel in the city.

Let’s take a look at this exciting new opening!

Hilton’s New 400-room Hotel Opens in the Center of Times Square

The Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square has 400 rooms, all in a compact design to maximize space. The rooms are “sound absorbing,” which will be a welcome feature for noisy Times Square.

For guests looking to be in the center of the action, the hotel is located near 41 Broadway theaters and other attractions in Midtown and on the Upper West Side.

The hotel has several common spaces, such as a lobby bar. An on-site restaurant, The Alderman, is a classic take on a New York City diner.

Hilton says the new Motto will offer “the most authentic taste” of New York City for locals and out-of-towners alike.

“Times Square is a neighborhood and destination all its own, and the entire Motto by Hilton Times Square team is excited to welcome guests and locals to experience all this property, and our neighborhood has to offer,” said Peter McNamee, General Manager of Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square.

This property became Hilton’s second Motto in the Big Apple, after the Motto by Hilton New York City Chelsea.

Bottom Line:

Hilton is bolstering its presence in Times Square — nicknamed the “Crossroads of the World” — with the additions of Tempo by HiltonHome2 Suites by Hilton, and Hampton by Hilton, all of which opened this summer. All told, Hilton will add roughly 2,000 rooms to its Times Square portfolio.

Booking the Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square

The Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square is now open for guests. The hotel is participating in the Hilton Honors program, which means you can earn and redeem Hilton Honors points for a stay.

Rates at the hotel are around 80,000 points per night, or around $350, which is to be expected for Times Square.

Like many hotel chains, Hilton no longer uses an award chart. Instead, the chain has adopted variable award pricing, which means award nights can be cheaper or more expensive, depending on when you travel.

Fortunately, it’s very straightforward to earn Hilton Honors points. Several Hilton co-branded credit cards offer sizable welcome bonuses and some form of elite status.

Hilton Honors members can also transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine with Hilton Honors Dining to earn more points.

Final Thoughts

If you want to be in the thick of the action and are a Hilton Honors loyalist, look no further than the newly-opened Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square. The hotel is in a prime location and a decent option if using cash or Hilton Honors points. We look forward to checking this hotel out in the future!
