Marriott is turning heads in Los Angeles this Spring with the opening of new Moxy and AC Hotel properties.

The new hotels, scheduled to open on April 12, 2023, will be located in the same 37-story skyscraper.

“Bringing together Moxy and AC Hotels allows guests to make the most of their stay while experiencing two very distinct personalities,” said Matthew Boettcher, vice president and global brand leader of distinctive select brands at Marriott International.

This is what you can expect from a stay at one of Los Angeles’s 2 newest Marriott hotels.

There’s a New Super-Marriott Coming to Downtown LA

The new Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles were designed for more than just a place to sleep.

It’s hoped that the dual-branded hotels’ whopping 12 dining and entertainment venues, 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and outdoor pool will attract local business and residents alike.

When it opens in later this month, the hotels’ shared Level 8 development is anticipated to be the main hub for the wining, dining, and entertainment of the hotels’ guests.

It will be situated on the 8th floor and feature 8 individual venues for guests and local residents to enjoy.

“By integrating the 2 hotels, plus Level 8, into a single building, we’re creating a myriad of experiences never before offered in Los Angeles — and keeping it all affordable,” said Mitchell Hochberg, president of real estate developer Lightstone that was responsible for 6 other Moxies in New York and South Beach.

On the corner of South Figuero and Pico Street, the hotel’s location will likely be perfect for sports fans headed to the Crypto.com Arena — home to the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Sparks — as well as visitors to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

There are a total of 727 guestrooms across the 2 properties: 380 in the Moxy, and 347 at the AC Hotel.

The hotels might feature in Marriott’s lowest ‘Select’ category of brands, but the price tag attached to a stay at these properties can often be more than a night at the W Hollywood — one of Marriott’s Luxury hotel brands.

If using Marriott Bonvoy points is more your style, then you’re looking at a nightly rates starting at 33,000 for the AC and 40,000 for the Moxy.

Hot Tip: Marriott is no stranger to dual-branded properties such as the TETRA Hotel and AC Hotel in Sunnyvale and the concept can work really well.

Final Thoughts

Downtown LA will welcome 2 brand-new, state-of-the-art Marriott hotels this month. The Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles will be great additions to the area for both residents and tourists, thanks to the inclusion of 12 eating and entertainment venues in the design plans for the new dual-hotel launch.
