Moxy has opened its first hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Let’s dive right in!

Moxy Williamsburg Located Near Bridge, Close to Manhattan

The 11-story Moxy Brooklyn Williamsburg features 216 guest rooms, ranging from standard king and queen rooms to rooms with twin bunk beds.

The hotel is located near the Williamsburg Bridge and is roughly a 10-minute walk from the Marcy Avenue JMZ trains, offering convenient access to Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Moxy Williamsburg has 4 dining options, including an indoor and outdoor rooftop bar with Williamsburg Bridge and Manhattan views. Other amenities include 3 meeting spaces which can be used for events or co-working.

“Moxy embraces being bold through authentic self-expression and Moxy Williamsburg is the perfect place for free-spirited travelers to live in the moment and do just that,” said Matthew Boettcher, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of Moxy Hotels.

Marriott has a sizable presence throughout Manhattan, including flagship hotels such as the EDITION, Ritz Carlton, and Marriott Marquis dotting the skyline. But there are only just 5 Marriott-branded hotels in Brooklyn, most of them concentrated in the downtown Brooklyn and Boerum Hill neighborhoods.

Putting a Moxy hotel in Williamsburg was a strategic choice — it’s among the most eclectic neighborhoods in New York City, and its proximity to Manhattan via the Williamsburg bridge may make even the most die-hard city fans consider a stay at the property.

How to Book

The Moxy Williamsburg will participate in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, which means guests can earn and redeem points for a stay. Rates are competitively priced, with award nights starting at 40,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Marriott Bonvoy points are among the easiest out there to earn. Chase and American Express each have Marriott Bonvoy-earning personal and business credit cards, and you’ll start earning points immediately on every purchase. Plus, you’ll earn a welcome bonus once minimum spending requirements are met, generally within the first 3 months after card approval.

Bottom Line: You can also transfer Amex and Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio, though transfers from Chase can take up to 2 days.

Final Thoughts

Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures, food, and music and draws travelers from across the globe. Opening a Moxy, one of Marriott’s Distinctive Select brands which emphasizes a “playful hotel experience for the young at heart,” makes sense. With decent rates with cash and points, the Moxy Williamsburg will surely be popular with travelers looking to stay in Brooklyn!
