Marriott has just opened a high-end hotel in the heart of Munich — and it features decent rates when using points.

Let’s take a look at this new hotel in the southern German city.

Munich Marriott Hotel City West Now Open

Munich Marriott Hotel City West has a whopping 398 guest rooms and suites in the city’s Westend District. It is slated to be a “flagship property” for the chain.

Marriott seemed to go all-in on this property: the hotel has 4 dining concepts, a rooftop terrace, a gym, 20 meeting and events spaces, plus the signature M Club, which is only available at select locations.

The hotel is a 12-minute tram ride to the city center, and Munich International Airport (MUC) is 35 minutes away by car.

“In the heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, Munich Marriott Hotel City West will become a true flagship property for Marriott Hotels as we continue to deliver elevated, contemporary design and enhanced guest experiences,” said Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium & Select Brands, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Marriott.

Bottom Line:

The Munich Marriott Hotel City West joins 18 other Marriott Bonvoy hotels in and around Munich. These include brands such as Aloft, Le Meridien, Moxy, and more.

How To Book the Munich Marriott Hotel City West

Munich Marriott Hotel City West is now open for guests. The hotel is participating in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, which means you can earn and redeem points at the property.

Award rates are pretty reasonable, with the lowest starting at 41,000 points a night this fall and winter. Cash rates are also affordable — especially if you plan to stay on a Friday or Saturday — at $175 per night. And, to celebrate the opening, Marriott is offering 5,000 points per stay, which we value at $35.

If you need to top up your account balance ahead of a redemption, it’s not difficult to earn Marriott Bonvoy pointsMarriott offers several co-branded credit cards with substantial welcome offers. You can then redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at hotels and resorts worldwide, including the Munich Marriott Hotel City West.

Additionally, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points and American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.

Final Thoughts

Munich has no shortage of quality hotels. However, Marriott’s billing of the Munich Marriott Hotel City West as a “flagship property” means this hotel will stand out from the rest.

With award nights and reasonable cash rates, this hotel will surely be a sweet spot for travelers in Germany!
